  • Holliday Traded to Cardinals

Oakland Athletics' Matt Holliday is traded to St. Louis Cardinals, sources say - ESPN

Great trade for the Cards. Solid protection for Albert. He should catch fire second half.

Definitely makes STL the favorites in the NL, IMO.

Should of, would have, but probably never could have. The orginization is too in love with these farm kids who may never even pan out. They still need another bat, but that's a whole 'nother story altogether.

In that Lowell thread, you guys all thought the Sox were gearing up to make a move when they got Duncan and LaRoche. Looks STL was the one doing so.

What other big names are really still out there besides Halladay?

From what i've heard, Boston has been trying everything to pry Adrian Gonzalez away from SD but the Padres keep saying they will not trade him. It also sounds like Cleveland and TB have been talking about trades for 3 days involing V. Martinez or C. Lee.

Exactly. Astros are tied with the Cubs at 1.5 games back right now.

                              That lineup is potent.
