I mean really, who the hell could EVER expect me to beat Kyle or Carl or Brad K or Kevin week in week out. It would and will never happen. If they raced in the Busch Series when I was coming up I would have been top 6 or 7 but NEVER a champ. Boy was I lucky!

Yeah,the competition back then wasnt even a drop in the bucket to what it is now.Would you honestly pick the 88 over the 24,48,99,18,11,14,29,22,17,16,33,39,to actually win a championship?Be honest with yourself.He is at best an 8th to 9th place car week in and out.The new point system is a creation to get Jr into the chase.Lets just get top 10s and win a championship.If he backs into a championship,it will be the biggest farce in sporting history and put Nascar on par with wrestling.

The new point system has nothing to do with Jr. making the Chase. Not a thing.

If he'd have gotten top 10's over the last couple years he'd have made the Chase just fine.

To answer your question, at the beginning of the year, hell no I wouldn't have picked him. The 88 is on the verge of winning races. Like Letarte said this weekend, they have the speed in the cars (as they've shown) now it's just fine tuning it into Victory Lane. Week in and week out, yes, I'd pick him over some of the other drivers you threw out there after seeing everyone's performance so far this year.

Anyway hit the way twice, lost the car in the middle of the race, and really we were just never even close. I think one of the guinesses said this thread was on borrowed time yea I can really tell. I think I'll just stay in N.C. this week because that road course in Cali damn sure aint for me.
