Your thinking is that the league wants a game 7 for revenue and what not. But that hasn't happened many times. Sweeps in the playoffs are common.

Many teams in the Championship series have been swept. If there was ever a time when the 'league' or Stern would want it to go 7 games, it would be in the Chmpionship series. And yet they go 4 or 5 games. Why isn't the 'fix' in on those games?

Why did Stern allow Cleveland to sweep Atlanta and not have the series go to 7 games so there would be tons more money and televised games?

Giving a shit about the Hawks isn't the point. The 'league' would have loved seeing possibly best player in the game, play more than just 4 games.

Just like when the Bulls swept team after team. You don't think the 'league' would have loved televising more than just 4 games every series. You're grabbing at straws with that theory.

I believe the goal was to make sure there was a game 6 in orlando with celts up 3-2, giving the best possible chance for a game 7.

If that was the goal, the refs should be fired for allowing Orlando to go up 14 and for their coach and team to go in the tank! Or was that part of the plan as well? I guess the NBA anticipated Van Gundy being an idiot (I guess that was easy!), his team choking, Howard touching the ball once in the last 10 minutes (I'll say that again...ONCE!) and Orlando scoring 1 FG in the final 6+ minutes.

That game should never have come down to the last minute or two of the game to have the refs have an impact. If that was the NBA's intentions, you would have seen a parade of Celtic players going to the foul line to keep the game close as they were getting their doors blown off.

I couldn't hear the refs conversations on the court from my living room so I can't give you a reason nor can anyone else. Unless the refs speak up, all anyone can give you is speculation, not answers and, imo, one ref must have claimed to have seen it 100% clearly.

I saw it live and immediately said to my wife when the whistle blew that 'it hit the rim' (to which she replied 'so what'?). When I saw the replay this morning, from the live angle (the same one that I thought it hit the rim), it looked like an airball but from the overhead one, which is an awful angle, I think it still may have changed direction. I really don't think anything I have seen, now having seen it 5 or 6 times, clearly shows whehter it hit the rim or not.

Unless someone saw it clearly, they should have reviewed if the rules allow them to review it (I am not familiar with replay rules in the NBA).
