Speaking of foolish statements....96 catches, 1050 yards, and 10 TDs last year for the old fart. I'll take that old any day of the week. Statistically he was BY FAR the best TE in football last year, and that was on a team with an average QB and opposing defenses keying on him. Atlanta has way more offensive weapons, meaning defenses can't key on him. Statistically, his numbers will likely go down b/c the Falcons have too many other weapons, but his addition will make that offense impossible to stop.

Gonzalez is ripped and a workout machine. He caught all those balls for a shitty team when EVERYONE KNEW they were going to throw to him. They talked about Gonzalez going to N.E. in the Cassel trade too and i was STOKED when i heard that ... but it never happened.

I absolutely LOVE this move by the Falcons and it didn't cost them much!

I followed matt cassel all year and he made the biggest improvement from game 2 to game 16 than any other pro last year. Not only does have a strong throwing arm, he is an excellent athlete and ran the ball quite well also.

I think he was the 1st QB in history to throw for 400 yards in a game and run for 50 too or something like that. Cassel has virtually NO wear and tear on his body from not playing in College or the NFL. He has a great arm with very good accuracy and he became VERY good at making the right decisions. He learned alot watching Brady and he had GREAT poise last season. I think he is going to be a very good QB in this league for the Chiefs!

No, saying they got raped is EXACTLY how i and MANY others up here feel. Look at Cassel's numbers last year my friend and tell me how valuable they are. You can call it the system or what ever you want but he did it for a full 16 weeks AND that is after not even knowing he was going to be the starter until 10 minutes into the season. That in itself is a miracle that he could just step in and do what he did. He is a top 10 QB in this league right now and if you look at all the others, can you really name 10 you would rather have over Cassel? I can't.

It also isn't just being compared to the Roy Williams trade. They talked on the radio about SEVERAL trades in the NFL in the last 3-5 years and many teams gave up a ton more for players that were less qualified or at a weaker position. Look at Braylon Edwards. Cleveland wants Kiwanuka and a #1 from the Giants for a guy who takes plays off and leads the league in drops? You think Braylon at WR is a more important player on a team than a QB? You are crazy if you do.

Dude, Cassel spend THREE YEARS under Brady WITH, okay, WITH the tutelage of Belichick. He damn well better have had a season like that. I just think you are assuming A LOT of things. Among the many assumptions, one is that you are assuming Matt Ryan will have another great year. With a full season of film on him, we will see. I'm not a Homer Falcons fan and i agree with harold 100%. What is your reasoning behind that? You act like someone who is scared of everyone and everything. What else can you guy by except last years numbers??? If he had a serious injury, it would be understandable but he didn't. With Gonzalez's history, you just assume the next year will be a bad one? That is one of the dumbest things i've ever heard. 1st off, Belichick is a defensive guy and he spends 99% of his time on that side of the ball.

Douglas ain't no superstar. Even someone of just average NFL talent. I think a nice FA WR would make this offense LETHAL

My point is: he is on the down slope of his career. That, people, is not debatable. So how could you give away a draft pick, and a decent one at that (probably top 45) of next year's draft? That is crazy!!!

I agree mavs. If they could get one more WR, they would be scary good on offense. Remember the Best Show on Turf in St Louis? They would start to remind me a little of them!

I'd agree they could use another receiver. Douglas is inconsistent.
