I was shocked at how much attention Bob Costas gave it on the post game last night.....there really may be something to this.

Let's agree to disagree. The conspiracy theorists always scream FIX anytime something out of the norm occurs when it affects the spread. Others, like me, just accept it as part of the game. A game played, coached and refereed by humans. Humans by nature make mistakes. The sport would be awfully boring if it was played, coached and refereed to perfection in every game. Imagine how nice that would be. The better team would win each and every game.
The ref didnt even know why he was reversing the call....he had no idea what he was calling as if someone just told him to just wave it off at all costs. Who buzzed him from upstairs? The replay booth? And what exactly was he looking for when he went under the hood? Im not sure if you saw it live Frank but that ref looked like a deer in headlights as if he was being coached into saying something that he had idea about.
Its just one of those things that cant really be explained I guess.

In the NFL, the attempt for extra point(s) is required after a touchdown scored during the regulation (i.e., not overtime), because points are used for some tiebreakers in the standings. Rarely, this can result in such an attempt having to be made at the end of the game when it cannot change the outcome of the game. You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning

Oh yeah and on CNN they just said they found the WMDs too.
I guess you believe Redskins Wins and Losses Predict the Outcomes of Presidential Elections.
I guess you believe if you forward an email to 27 people you'll get a free laptop.
I guess you believe Elvis is alive. You believe in the Bermuda Triangle and that Bigfoot exists.
BTW I do think OJ was guilty. But I don't understand the analogy between OJ's and a fixed NFL football game.

[QUOTE=frankb03;1543298]I honestly don't! You honestly do! Both are opinions. Until you or anyone can provide facts that the game was fixed then your opinion is just that. AN OPINION!
I guess you believe Redskins Wins and Losses Predict the Outcomes of Presidential Elections. (Trend)
I guess you believe if you forward an email to 27 people you'll get a free laptop. (I dont know, do you?)
I guess you believe Elvis is alive. You believe in the Bermuda Triangle and that Bigfoot exists. (Personally I do not, but they have been proven otherwise?)

For what its worth, as a person who in the past in this forum has raised suspicions about the integrity of the NBA and still do re: pointspreads and totals (way before Donaghy) and especially with Lakers games, I for one don't think there was an attempt to influence the ats outcome in the football game yesterday.
To me it was just a bizarre finish leaving officials confused and perplexed considering the circumstances and how fast they occurred and since it was the last play of the game.
I can't prove it, but I think in this instance it was merely coincidental that the ATS outcome was affected by the ultimate decision.

Well said, Frank..you, I and others would like to believe that the game is 99% clean and having humans making judgement calls can lead to misinterpretations and incorrect decisions, as bad as they may be at times.
Others will always think that there is a 'bigger picture' and reasons behind terrible calls and miscalls...and that is fine, it is their opinion and everyone is entitled to it.Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910

They call a holding to nullify a touchdown then go over there on the sideline for 10 minutes the coach for san diego acts like his jobs on the line and they have already lost the game! Why would people act the way these people acted if there wasn't something up?
