But just because I think it wasn't conclusive enough to overturn, doesn't mean I can't understand why the official would think otherwise.
I think the argument that the TD should stand because the game was over is as lame as the argument that they replayed it for tiebreaker implications. I firmly believe they replayed it because it was close enough to do so and the ref thought it went forward so they overturned it. They applied the rule book the way it is supposed to be interpreted...from what little I know about it.

It's simple....My view of the replay, shows forward pass by about a yard....Review official saw it the same way...by rule, no advancement of ilegal forward pass/lateral....
Cut and dry.....score affects playoff positions, they are compelled to get it right....

I see Wayne;s post where the official says it should have been a TD...I will be interested to hear why he feels that way. I am sure this will be talked about for a couple of days.Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910

You won the battle but the good guys will win the war.
You must love NBC's Sunday Night Football's halftime "green" show for enviromental awareness. Kieth Olberman must be holding them hostage or something. I say separation of Sports and Politics, whadya say?NBA is a joke

LATE BREAKING SCOOP - Jim Harbaugh and the refs had BIG dollars on SD - they wanted to double up from last night's USC game!
That was bullshit and I had major dollars on SD. I didn't believe it was forward; until I went to the link posted and started go through the video frame by frame. I now believe it left LTs hand at the 25.5 and was caught at the 26.5 - it was forward. Dang if I believed it before pause.
However, all good arguments on whether to review or not to review. Lost last year when they reviewed the Browns field goal vs the ravens on the last play - they brought them back on the field but that was the outcome.
If it wasnt for clearing the field and for the PAT - it would have counted. If you look REAL CLOSE at the end you can even see Pete Carroll on the PITT sideline trying to call timeout before the PAT to get it reviewed!!!!!!!!!Last edited by Doctor Z; 11-16-2008, 11:19 PM.

costas and the rest of the reporters are pretty much not allowed to talk negatively about the nfl...costas however, has been in the game too long and i dont think it would affect him to make controversial comments about the nfl....the nfl agreed it was the wrong call now .....are you going to keep saying it was the right call? what do you see that nobody else does and why are you so sure its still correct after knowing what you know now? makes you look very ignorant
