Arizona -118 over Chicago (NL): The Cubs have been horrendous at the plate lately scoring just 5 runs in their last 5 games and hitting around .225 in their last 8 games overall. Last night they did have 10 hits but could only muster 1 run. That's putrid. They now face a pitcher, in Juan Cruz, that has one start this year and allowed just 1 run and 2 hits in 5 innings of work vs the Giants. The D-Backs have done well at home this year putting up 5.7 rpg and a .295 BA, plus on the season they have faced 9 lefty starters and have .265 BA, scoring 6.1 rpg in the process and they have hit 13 HR's off of southpaw starters this year. The Cubs are 6-13 in their last 19 Thursday games and 7-20 in their last 27 trips to the desert, while Arizona is 7-0 in their last 7 vs. a team with a winning record and 5-1 in their last 6 home games. The Cubs are really missing Lee, Wood and Prior and their slide will continue tonight.
