So originally, I was thinking of going with Wayne Roots G-Win picks (only because I have heard of him...the books, shows etc) Then I called them and asked if I could see a record of pics somewhere and the guy says "who gives a shit how we did in the past, what matters is today." On top of that they want 1700 A MONTH for picks and they won't tell me how many I get for that price. WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY CHARGING 1700 A MONTH FOR? (anyone use GWIN? are they THAT good???) Plus a little searching finds some pissed off people when it comes to Root.

WHO SHOULD I GO WITH? vegassi.com looks pretty good. I am looking for concencus bets... pretty much "sure things." I don't mind betting favorites or whatever, so long as I am making 54% or more when all is said and done.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. I know NOTHING about sports betting and won't be betting favorite teams or upping bets all the time. This is strictly something I am interested in as an investment.

C, there is nothing certain about gambling. Whatever you bet, be prepared to lose. Get yourself in the right mindset because gambling is a roller coaster ride. Lots of ups and downs that you will have to manage yourself through.

Personally I am of the philosophy that anyone who charges for tips is scamming. At the end of the day, professional sports bettors are few and far between. I mean how many of us can say we make a regular income from sports gambling and we dont have a 9-5 job? Heres my advice, spend some time in this forum and see who tips best in each sport. You will find certain people in here are better at MLB than NBA and others that seem to be pretty reliable in NFL. Then use a money management technique ie figure out your bankroll and bet accordingly without over extending yourself. I dont see the need for paying for a service when you can follow exactly the same process with a bit of research. Hope all goes well for you!

You may not like this answer but I've been around a long time and services are a good way to throw away your money and nothing else. Second not knowing anything about betting and saying you are using it as an investment is like telling me you want to buy stocks but all you have are names on a dart board. If you have extra income and can afford this as a hobby then do it. There are some good cappers on this site. If you want make money get a good financial advisers and invest in RIA's, 401K's, long term stuff that will grow and be there for retirement.

I have been following services closely since their inception in the mid to late 70´s and have to agree that very few if any of them pay for themselves over any extended period of time, and that certainly includes Wayne Root, who is nothing but a fader of a certain group of folks. He never and I mean never has any justification/writeups of his picks; the stock price of his miserable company(GWIN) symbol gwni at around .04 speaks volumes.
He has ZERO documentation of his record for obvious reasons.
I personally would not pay him .17 a month let alone $1700.
For that matter you can find all of his picks posted for nothing on other forums(I am not allowed to mention the name of them).
Good luck no matter what you decide to do.
