MIAMI, OHIO @ BALL STATE
4 PM EST 1/14/06
RED ZONE SPORTS MID MAJOR SPECIAL!!
This encounter pairs up two teams who had vastly different forecasts before the season began. The Redhawks from Miami were a darkhorse threat for the MAC crown, and returned three starters from a 18 win season last year. Veteran Coach Charlie Coles had his sights on post season play of some form, and spoke enthusiastically about the upcoming season. Miami is 7-5, but only 4-8 ATS and have not played very well on the road which is uncharacteristic of a Coles mentored squad.
Ball State on the other hand had no outward ambitions, and really was just looking to get to .500, have a year's experience for a young squad to prepare for next year. They may be only 5-6, but are 7-4 ATS and a fat 5-1 ATS at home. The newcomers have stepped up big time, and two players who had season ending injuries last year, (Bass and Stovall) have come back to play major parts in the resurrection of Ball State Cardinal basketball.
Our regulars know we look for the strongest plays at any level, and examine the low and mid-major pairings to find the best selections for you. Take the Cardinals from Muncie,Indiana to not only cover but win outright Saturday. Ball State BIG TIME!!
