INDIANA HOOSIERS @ MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS
SAT 12 NOON EST CURRENT LINE INDY +19
Ladies and gentleman set down and pull up a chair as RED ZONE SPORTS
prepares to provide you with one sweet payday. Our regular clientele know
that we search each and every week for nice fat underdog winners. Well
ladies and gents here she blows!
The Hoosiers have been getting pummeled week IN and week out after
starting 3-0 and already beating hapless Illinois soundly. Michigan State
on the other hand was inching into the top ten and had the #1 passer in
terms of offensive efficiency and many thought a top five offense in the
NCAA statistically. What they didn't tell you was the character of this
club. After losing back to back overtime games to Notre Dame and Michigan,
they went out and got slaughtered literally by Northwestern, and I mean
slaughtered 49-14.
Indiana is a team that only true college football fans can list their
stars. Their QB Blake Powers has thrown for almost 1600 yards, and a sweet
20 touchdowns. Going into last weeks game against the best defense in the
Big Ten (Ohio Sate), their WR James Hardy had been averaging 8+ catches per
outing. OSU double covered him on every play and held him to "3"
receptions. State is reeling, and we believe they are sure they will get
fat on Indiana. RED ZONE SPORTS says that nothing could be further from the
truth, and we've got some trends to support it.
The visitor is 7-2 ATS in the last nine of this series, and the Hoosiers
are 10-2 ATS versus bad defensive teams like the 110th ranked Spartans.
After completely imploding against Northwestern, they are 3-11 ATS when a
double digit home favorite, like the 18 points right here. More importantly
they are 1-3 ATS as a home favorite this season. Last year was the first
time that MSU didn't go to a bowl since 1996. Under Coach Smith they are
3-6 ATS as home favorites and 5-7 on grass. If they fail to win this one,
don't look for a bowl bid this season either, as they have Purdue,
Minnesota, and Penn State on deck with two of three on the road. Take the
Hoosiers as a sweet dog, cover Saturday and thank your lucky stars for RED
ZONE SPORTS.
