Baylor -5 against Army.
Baylor may be on the road here, but Army is one of, if not the, worst teams in college football. They are so bad that they are 1-16 straight up in their last 17 home games and 6-12-2 ATS over their last 20 home games. Baylor is coming off of a 3-8 season a year ago, but they were 7-3 ATS and they have the confidence of a 2-0 start this season. Their defense will be improved this season with the help of eight returning starters. They are 8-2 ATS before a bye week and they are 15-7 ATS overall in the past three seasons. Army is 1-10 ATS in non conference games, 1-6 ATS in September, and 10-14 ATS overall in the past three seasons. Army was demoralized 44-7 by Boston College in their first game, it will not be that bad, but it will be double digits.
Colorado (Cook +$110) against Arizona (Vargas).
We keep finding reasons to take the Rockies on the road and though they only have 23 victories there, the DBacks are only 30-43 at home, so it is not unreasonable. Aaron Cook is 5-1 on the season with a 3.23 Era and the Rocks are 7-2 when he makes a start. He is also 2-0 with a nice 1.71 Era over his last three and is 2-0 in three career starts versus the Backs. Vargas is 9-8, but holds a nasty 5.20 Era to go with it which balloons to 6.27 over his last three starts. He is 2-2 over his last four starts, giving up 21 earned runs in 23 2/3 innings. It looks nice for the doggie here...
