Today's Free Play
New England/ Oakland UNDER 50: Yes the Raiders offense will be much stronger with the additions of WR Randy Moss and RB Lamont Jordan and yes the Patriots strong and efficient offense will be facing a Raider defense that was one of the worst in the league last year, but I am still leaning towards the UNDER and her is why. Over the last 17 Patriot home games (incl. playoffs) there has been a total of 31.2 ppg scored, with 13 of those 17 games going under the total. Both teams will feature good rushing attacks and that will allow the clock to run. Even with the loss of Pat DC Crennel, Bill Belichick is still on the sideline and he will devise a plan to take Moss out of the game which will keep the score down. The Raiders defense was one of the worst in the league last year but but they got a whole lot better with the additions of their top 2 draft picks CB's Washington and Routt, plus DT Kenny Smith (FA). One more thing, and I know pre-season isn't a huge guage, but the radiers only allowed 15.8 ppg in exhibition games this year. Improved Raiderdefense, same tough New England defense and more running than expected will make for a game in the 40's and not in the 50's. Total Points 44
