  • North Coast/Royal/Millenium Sports Collusion?

Well, I just got a complimentary PowerSweep package yesterday.
Besides the first issue and a copy of Phil's College Football Preview Issue, I received a 2 page ad from Royal Sports with all kinds of fancy offers and discounts on North Coast's products/PowerSweep including a 40% discount on N Coast's 5* for September(I interpret that to mean that you get 40% off the cost of your bet if you lose and play it with them).
Today on the comp. phone Phil gives a similar plug for Millenium.
Does anyone think that the two offshores cited are doing this out of the goodness of their heart, and that they want Phil to win all of his plays and that of course all of the people who sign up with them based on the ad will also win?
This is essentially the same crap he pulled last year; and remember most of his 5*s lost last year.
As Yogi Berra would ask, could this be deja vu all over again?

The standard line given out by sports services when questioned about interesting but suspicious relationships like this one is something akin to "we advertise for them and they advertise for us" or the sportsbook allegedly gets two way action on most of the games, and thus the more people who bet with them. the more vig they pick up.
The ideal scenario for a sportsbook would be for North Coast to refer a lot of players to them, for Phil's(Steele) 5*'s or other big plays to lose and then for the bettors to lose even more when they try and fail to get back the money they originally lost.
I don't buy the cockamamie rationale I suggested in the first part of the post.
Don't be fooled;I would bet anything that if most sports services refer clients to sportsbooks, and the players lose over time by betting the service's plays and then plays on their own, the sports service is compensated in some way by the sportsbook.
Any service which states otherwise is not telling it as it is!
