  • NFL FUTURES: It's COMING HOME! (baby)

In my 2003 NFL PREVIEW ISSUE I predicted PATRIOTS-PANTHERS SUPERBOWL.

My NFL FUTURES were a SLAM DUNK in 2003 with:

*PANTHERS +3500 to Win the NFC
*PANTHERS +7500 to Win the SUPERBOWL
*PATRIOTS +1100 to Win the AFC
*PATRIOTS +3500 to Win the SUPERBOWL

2005: I have officially FINALIZED and RELEASED 2 PRO EDGE Online Tipsheet NFL FUTURES Wednesday.

I do not normally put out Futures until my NFL PREVIEW Issue at the end of Pre-Season, but I am SOLD on these particular Futures and...

...I expect the ODDS on these 2 plays to begin DROPPING as early as tomorrow night and continue to drop throughout the remainder of the Pre-Season.

The PRO-EDGE Online Tipsheet is just that--a Tipsheet at a Tipsheet price. That's all. It's cool too...

...currently with a 5-1-1 ATS Record in Pre-Season and expected to be 7-1-1 ATS after this Weekend's plays.

The Sheet will include my NFL EXCEL PROGRAM plays and NCAA COLLEGE FOOTBALL "COVER SYSTEM" Plays that went 19-4-1 ATS last year.

If you are interested in receiving my PRO EDGE Online Tipsheet, I welcome your business. I'm not a heavy player and work two jobs (Treasure Bay, Hard Rock), and I do this once a year to supplement my income for me and my family.

I appreciate your business. For more info check out the site. Thanks.

Why do you think that, they've been out for 2 months, don't think anyones information will make the odds go down starting tomorrow!!!

      Wanna Bet?

NFL Futures are put on the betting board MONTHS before the Season begins. Generally they do not change much; perhaps a "little" during the draft.

What really begins to move the Futures line is how teams do in PRE-SEASON. Two years ago the Panthers were 100-1 to Win the Superbowl (+1000).

Those ODDS stayed put until PRE-SEASON. It's not so much that PRE-SEASON "says it all". It's that sharp players ALREADY have an idea (based on various factors) of "who" might be a sleeper. But they do not actually bet it until they get a pre-season "look".

Once they get pre-season looks, then they confirm their suspicions--or not. And then they make their bet--or not.

Sharpies had an eye on the Panthers during the off-season but waited until PRE-SEASON to get a "look". Then the ODDS BEGAN DROPPING. Down to 75-1 once Carolina had a couple games under their belt and eventually down to 40-1.

Potential SB contenders fit a patern and generally have certain things in common. While OFFENSE sells tickets and gets teams to the Playoffs, DEFENSE "wins" once they get there.

Key things to look for include:

      DISCIPLINE, A NO NONSENSE COACH.

In his debut season John Fox went 7-9, but he also benched two starting offensive lineman for off the field probs, one of which was a pro-bowler. Okay, he's got my attention. He will demand respect like the Belichics and Parcels of the league.

      DEFENSE
      SPECIAL TEAMS
      CAN THEY RUN THE BALL

      NEVER SAY DIE ATTITUDE
      UNITY

A STRONG FINISH FROM THE PRIOR SEASON

THE DRAFT (DID THEY FILL ADDRESS THEIR NEEDS)

I remember before the 2003 draft, I had two teams circled. The Chiefs and Panthers. I was convinced that the Chiefs only needed a "little" defensive help to go Bowling. I was equally convinced that the Panther only needed a "little" OFFENSIVE help to be a contender.

KC opted to draft Larry Johnson from Penn State. Say HUH? But the Panthers acquired Stephen Davis, Ricky Proehl, and other key offensive acquisitions. Bingo.

Next I wait to see what happens in Pre-Season. Rarely in recent history does a team go bowling unless they showed up in pre-season in two categories:

      Wins
      Defense

The Panthers showed up and the line began to drop.

Bottom line: I believe after this weekend those who know what the hell I am talking about will have seen all they need to see to come to the same conclusions I have come to. This line will begin dropping after this weekends action...

      thanks for posting,

        watchtower,

My FUTURES Pick sent out on Wednesday, incredibly, is currently in the BOTTOM 3RD of the NFL as far as the ODDS to Win the SB suggests.

Say WHAT???!!! Excuse me??? The BOTTOM THIRD??? Are you kidding me???

This team has ALL the ingredients needed to go to the BIG DANCE BABY!

They are in the bottom 3rd now. By the time Regular Season Kicks off on September 8th, they will have move into the TOP 1/3 if not higher.

        BANK IT

              Watchtower,

I like your OVER on Carolina. Olympic has it at 9.5 +125

Me too Tigger. Moved on it Wednesday night. I usually wait till after all the pre-season games are over, but I think we're gonna lose value after tomorrow's game.
