GL Dave, I was just down in Biloxi 2 weeks ago. What casino do you work in? I played poker in the Grand a bunch of times and hung out in the Brew Pub and the Z Club while down there.

I didn't make it to the Treasure Bay this time. I always stay at the Ho Jo right there across the street from the Shark's Head, not far from Treasure Bay. What do you think of the Hard Rock they are building? I was talking to someone and they said that place is in trouble because of lack of rooms and not being able to compete with the Beau.

The Hard Rock is not in trouble and won't be in trouble. During the months leading up to the opening of the Beau in March of '99, other casinos and personel were a little worried about how bad their business would drop.

The opposite happened. The Beau (then Steve Wynn's property) put Biloxi on the map and gave the mini-Vegas stamp of approval.

In coming passengers at the local airport TRIPLED, and as a result ALL the casinos made more money.

The Hard Rock does not have to compete the Beau. In fact, because of their location (next door to the Rivage), they will have the greatest benefit while it is the Beau Rivage that will take the greatest initial hit, which wont' be much and wont' be for long.

Now Donald Trump is looking at building down here too. The Hard Rock is going to do well and the other casinos will profit from their presence...
