Game: Minnesota Twins at Seattle Mariners 10:05 p.m. ET

Sport: MLB - Major League Baseball

    Line: Seattle Mariners (Hernandez) -120

    Prediction: Seattle Mariners (Hernandez) -120

    Explanation: 1 Unit

Arms Must Start: Minnesota - Kyle Lohse / Seattle - Felix Hernandez

Neither the Twins nor the Mariners are playing very well but the edge goes to Seattle based on the starters going on Tuesday. The Mariners have been in a prolonged slump the last month plus but Minnesota has been playing worse over the last two weeks. The Twins have dropped 12 of their 17 games to fall completely out of the division race and lose a lot of ground in the wild card standings.

Felix Hernandez looked fantastic in the Major League debut even though he was tagged with the loss. He had an understandably rough first inning but settled down and allowed just one hit in the nest our innings. His stuff looked great as mlb.com reported that his fastball hit 97 mph and a sharp-breaking curve buckled knees. This kid is the real deal and now he can show his stuff in his home debut.

The Twins have scored exactly two runs in each of the last three starts by Kyle Lohse and the offense is averaging only 3.8 rpg in his 20 starts this season. Lohse has not posted a victory since July 2 against Tampa Bay and Minnesota is just 2-5 in his last seven starts since then. Opponents are hitting .312 in his road starts this season and .341 overall in his five starts since the All-Star break.

Seattle has not been hitting the ball well recently but a return home will help. The Mariners have scored five runs or more in seven of their last eight games, averaging 5.9 rpg over that span. This is pretty important that the offense has been better at home recently since the output is over a run and a half more than their home season average. Minnesota’s 4.4 rpg on the road is ahead of only Kansas City in the AL. Play Seattle Mariners

Predicted Final: Seattle Mariners 5 Minnesota Twins 3
