The Astros under Manager Phil Garner trail the Cardinals in the National League Central Division by 10.5 games, and have placed themselves into the Wild Card race by winning eight out of their last 10 events. Last night Gold Key Baseball Members won with these Astros, with a fair line of 150. Roy Oswalt gets the nod for the Astros tonight. The right-hander is 13-8 with a 2.41 ERA on the season. He has recorded the decision in his last 10 starts, and he and the Astros are 8-2 in those games. We'll continue to ride the Astros, this time as only a Free Play here because of a higher line.
The Phillies trail the Braves and Nationals by 3.5 games in the National League East under acting Manager Gary Varsho, and they too are in the hunt for the Wild Card spot as well. They have lost seven out of their last 10 games on the Road, have lost seven straight to the Astros, and haven't won in Houston since May 18, 2003. John Lieber takes the mound for the Phillies this evening. The right-hander is an Even Stephen 9-9 with a 4.88 ERA on the year. The Phillies have lost his last four Road starts.

The Blue Jays under Manager John Gibbons are 49-48, and trail the Red Sox in the American League East by five games. Their Offense has come alive, and they have won four out of their last five games by scoring six or more runs in those wins. Ted Lilly gets the ball for the Blue Jays today. The Southpaw gave up five earned runs in 5.1 innings at Home versus the Mariners in his last start, but his team still won a barn-burner, 12-10. The Blue Jays figure to score and give up some runs this afternoon.
The Royals are 35-62 out of the American League Central, and Manager Buddy Bell and crew are currently 28.5 games behind the White Sox. They are an Even Stephen 9-9 versus the American League East, and put up more of a fight at Home with a 20-28 record. D.J. Carrasco gets the nod for the Royals today. The Right-hander is 4-4 with a 4.09 ERA on the year. He was knocked out of the box early in his last start at the Indians, and was charged with five earned runs in that event in 2.1 innings pitched. Opponents sport a .295 batting average versus Carrasco.
