The Blue Jays under Manager John Gibbons are 49-48, and trail the Red Sox in the American League East by five games. Their Offense has come alive, and they have won four out of their last five games by scoring six or more runs in those wins. Ted Lilly gets the ball for the Blue Jays today. The Royals are 35-62 out of the American League Central, and Manager Buddy Bell and crew are currently 28.5 games behind the White Sox. They are an Even Stephen 9-9 versus the American League East, and put up more of a fight at Home with a 20-28 record. D.J. Carrasco gets the nod for the Royals today. The Right-hander is 4-4 with a 4.09 ERA on the year. He was knocked out of the box early in his last start at the Indians, and was charged with five earned runs in that event in 2.1 innings pitched. Opponents sport a .295 batting average versus Carrasco.
