    Fairfield +6 (3 Units) 7:30 pm EST

Here we have one team who is thrilled getting into their first post-season since 1997 and another feeling snubbed by not getting invited into the NCAA tournament. The Stags were concerned that they would be an NIT snub based on the number of conference tournament upsets in recent days but they were granted their wish and ended up getting a home game out of it. BC is down on themselves right now and will find it difficult getting up for an NIT game even if it is against a fellow Jesuit New England team. Asked about the prospects of wrapping up his decorated career in the NIT, BC guard Troy Bell said, ''I'm going to play, regardless. That's what I'm here to do, but it's definitely not something I'm looking forward to. I mean, I'm going to play and it's my team and I'm going to do what I have to do. It's just not the same, it's just not the same. But you've just got to do what you've got to do.'' As much as an emotional edge will help, the physical aspect needs to be there as well and Fairfield fits the bill for that especially with their defense. In their last 5 games, the Stags allowed just 63 ppg on 36% shooting from the floor. Included in this was a loss to Manhattan in the MAAC Championship game. On their resume, they do have a home win against another NCAA tourney team, UNC-Wilmington. As for the Eagles, we were high on this team entering the Big East tournament with the way they were playing as they had won 8 of 9 and were peaking at the right time. The loss to Pitt hurt more than they thought it would and they non-invite to the Big Dance has simply deflated this team. Troy Bell summed it up perfectly that this team is not looking forward to the NIT. The Stags are expecting a near sellout, which pretty rare for them and they will be sky-high for this game so we will bite this dangerous underdog.
