Los Angeles Lakers at San Antonio Spurs 8:35 PM ET
San Antonio Spurs –9 –110 (2 Units)
San Antonio returns home on Saturday looking to sweep the Lakers in the four game season series. The Spurs have won all three games convincingly winning the first three games by nine, 12 and 15 points. Even without the services of Tim Duncan, San Antonio is by far the better team as the Lakers are all but done having lost nine of their last 10 games and six straight on the road.
The Spurs are a league-best 34-3 at home this season and are outscoring opponents by 13 ppg while outshooting foes by 6.4 percent from the floor and 4.7 percent from behind the arc. Los Angeles has been very inconsistent on offense scoring 100 or more points three times in its last 10 games while also scoring less than 90 points three times as well. The Lakers are shooting just 42.9 percent on the road this season.
The defense has been the real problem for the Lakers. Los Angeles has allowed 100 or more points in nine of its last 11 games, giving up an average of 105.9 ppg during that span. The Spurs do not have an explosive offense with or without Duncan but San Antonio should be able to find success against this defense. The Spurs have scored 102.7 ppg in the three meetings and that was against a better Los Angeles team at the time.
The biggest problem for the Lakers is taking care of the ball as they are an incredible -215 in turnovers on the season. That is something the Spurs eat up as they are +14 in the three games this season. The Lakers are only 2-6 against the number when getting 8 or more points while the Spurs are 25-16 ATS when favored by the same amount. Even though the Spurs are off a big game at Denver, they will be up for this game as a sweep will be something they are after.
