BIG AL'S 100% ATS NCAA TOURNEY GAME OF THE YEAR -- AL CASHED HIS 2003 & 2004 NCAA GAMES OF THE YEA
    Cost: $40 Ungraded

    Handicapper: Big Al McMordie

    League: College Basketball

Event: Michigan State vs North Carolina on 04/02/2005 at 17:45

    Condition: North Carolina

    Grade: Ungraded

Explanation: At 8:45 pm, on Saturday, our Tournament Game of the Year is on the North Carolina Tar Heels, who fall into a system that's a perfect 12-0 ATS since 1990. What we want to do is play against any underdog of less than 9 points in the Final Four that's off 4 straight ATS wins, if they're matched up against a foe that's NOT off an ATS win of more than 12 points. Tom Izzo's Spartans are on a 4-game point spread winning streak, while North Carolina failed to cover by 3.5 points vs. Wisconsin (winning 88-82 as a 9.5-point favorite). Take North Carolina as our Tournament Game of the Year. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.

ON FIRE Lenny Del Genio's 20* FINAL 4 GAME OF THE YR (Lenny is 23-10 last 33 NCAA plays)
    Cost: $40 Ungraded

    Handicapper: Lenny DelGenio

    League: College Basketball

Event: Michigan State vs North Carolina on 04/02/2005 at 17:45

    Condition: North Carolina

    Grade: Ungraded

Explanation: On paper, North Carolina is the far superior team to Michigan State, but of course they don't play on paper. UNC has at least 4 future NBA players on their squad, while Mich St likely has NONE. Had a line on this game been made before the tournament started based on these two teams' work over the course of the yr, UNC would have been AT LEAST an 8 point favorite. However, a couple of close calls for UNC vs Wiscy and 'Nova combined with upsets of heavyweights Duke and Kentucky by Mich State, and all of a sudden the line is 5. On top of this, Tom Izzo's reputation as a "big game" tourney coach and Roy Williams' reputation as a big game "choker" have lowered this line such that UNC now has tremendous value. Sean May is too strong and too tough inside for Paul Davis. Davis has no viable backup while UNC has waves of players coming off of the bench, including a future NBA lottery pick in Marvin Williams. Mich St is at their best when running up and down and using their athleticism. Unfortunately for them, this plays right into UNC's hands, as the Tarheels are more skilled and even better at this game. MSU does not have the rugged defense they have had in yrs past and an attempt to slow the game down won't serve them well. The biggest advnatage UNC has is at point guard where Raymond Felton is terrific with the ball, passing, and shooting, while Neitzel, a freshman is inconsistent. UNC will pull away late in this game despite Izzo's best efforts.

RED HOT Lenny Del Genio's 20* FINAL 4 TOTAL OF THE YR (Lenny is 9-3 last 12 totals)
    Cost: $40 Ungraded

    Handicapper: Lenny DelGenio

    League: College Basketball

Event: Louisville vs Illinois on 04/02/2005 at 15:05

    Condition: Under

    Grade: Ungraded

Explanation: Both of these teams are coming off of terrible defensive games, but both were underrated VERY GOOD defensive teams all season. Both also acknowledged their poor defensive play after winning and will be working all week to corrrect this. Louisville plays a lot of zone defense, which forces teams to use up the shot clock, and is allowing 63.9 points on 38.6 percent shooting. Illinois allows 60.0 points on 40.9 percent shooting, including 35.3 from 3-point range. Illinois allowed just 4 teams all season to top 70 points on them. Prior to yielding 79 to Arizona, the Illini had held 14 straight teams to 65 points or less. The Illini will get out on Louisville's 3 point shooters and contest their shots. Against top teams away from home this season, Louisville's high flying attack was not quite as potent. They scored 69 at Cincy, 64 at Marquette, 54 at Memphis, and 66 at Depaul. These teams will be playing their 1st game in the Edward Jones Dome in front of a football-sized crowd. The shooting eye will be terrible, and it will take these teams some time to adjust. This will be equivalent to a heavyweight fight in which there is a "feeling out" process before the rhythm of the game kicks in. This total is SET TOO HIGH. Play the UNDER!

2004 STARDUST CHAMPION BIG AL'S NIT FINALS WINNER -- AL'S NIT GAME OF THE YEAR WINS WITH S. CAROLINA
    Cost: $40 Ungraded

    Handicapper: Big Al McMordie

    League: College Basketball

Event: St. Joseph's vs South Carolina on 03/31/2005 at 16:00

    Condition: South Carolina

    Grade: Ungraded

Explanation: At 7 pm, on Thursday, our NIT Winner is on the South Carolina Gamecocks who fall into two post-season systems of mine that are 54-18 and 31-7 ATS which play against certain teams off 3 or more wins, if their last victory came as an underdog. The St. Joe's Hawks fit the negative elements of both systems perfectly and, after cashing with South Carolina as our NIT Tournament Game of the Year, we'll take the Gamecocks once again on Thursday. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. And don't miss my NCAA Tournament Game of the Year on Saturday.

GREG DARABAN'S NIT WINNER (**7-0** IN THE NIT)
    Cost: $45 Ungraded

    Handicapper: Greg Daraban

    League: College Basketball

Event: St. Joseph's vs South Carolina on 03/31/2005 at 16:00

    Condition: St. Joseph's

    Grade: Ungraded

Explanation: St. Joseph's (24-11) vs South Carolina (19-13) NIT Championship at Madison Square Garden. Big Apple holds tonight's NIT championship game. Hawks and Gamecocks will enter the arena looking to claim a championship in the minor tournament. So Carolina scored a real nice win vs Maryland here Tuesday in the semifinals. St Joe's has absolutely been on fire of late winning 9 of their last 10, and they smashed Memphis Tuesday in their semifinal game 70-58. St. Joe's HC Phil Martelli has made his players get up for this tournament. Lets prove to everyone we should have in the NCAA's must have been a common line at practice. St Joes gets one more win on the season. Take St Joes.

RED HOT Lenny Del Genio's 20* NIT FINAL TOTAL (Lenny is 9-3, 75%, last 12 totals)
    Cost: $40 Ungraded

    Handicapper: Lenny DelGenio

    League: College Basketball

Event: St. Joseph's vs South Carolina on 03/31/2005 at 16:00

    Condition: Under

    Grade: Ungraded

Explanation: Dave Odom, Coach of South Carolina has declared that he will be looking to speed up this game by pressing, trapping, and trying to take St. Joe's out of their comfort zone. The problem is that many teams (including Memphis last game) have attempted this with St Joe's and failed. St Joes has played against many teams who have employed a similar strategy. When they attack the press, they do so only to get over midcourt, not to score. The Hawks are much more comfortable playing in the half court. South Carolina is one of the poorer 3 point shooting teams in the country and also ver anemic at the foul line. St. Joes has held 7 of their last 9 opponents to 60 points or less. South Carolina plays some stifling defense of their own. Both of these teams want this game very badly and will play with strong intensity. The only thing that would put this game over the total is a parade to the foul line in the closing minutes. It's always dangerous to bet an UNDER in a game in which the loser's season is over as the team trailing will foul desperately until the end (as Maryland did last game). However, this will be a tightly contested, low-scoring affair.

BIG AL'S 100% (18-0 ATS) NBA WINNER ON NATIONAL TV -- AL HAS CASHED 20 OF 28 NBA PACKAGES!
    Cost: $40 Ungraded

    Handicapper: Big Al McMordie

    League: NBA

Event: Minnesota Timberwolves vs Los Angeles Lakers on 03/31/2005 at 19:35

    Condition: Minnesota Timberwolves

    Grade: Ungraded

Explanation: At 10:35 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Timberwolves, as Kevin McHale's crew is 18-0 ATS since January 17, 2003 when playing with double revenge, if the Timberwolves are NOT getting more than 2 points, and their win percentage is .520 or better. Minnesota lost at home to L.A. 105-96 on January 10, and lost 93-90 at the Staples Center on January 19. Look for the T-Wolves to avenge those defeats this evening. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. And don't miss my super NIT Championship Winner tonight or my NCAA Tourney Game of the Year Winner on Saturday. Those winners are available right now.
