      FYI:..."SUPER SATURDAY" w/ "BIG GAME PLAY"-GOM....

Damn Iowa St, only scores 6 pts in the last 9+ mins of the game to lose...after being up by as many as 8 pts in the 2nd hf....Unreal!

Anyways, thats why they call this MARCH MADNESS or as some say MARCH SADNESS...LOL.....Although this time of the year is very exciting and full of action packed games, Capping the conference tournaments can be a bit more time consuming as it there are a lot more different strategies and situations which must now be put into the mix of it all....In the long haul though, if you put in the time and effort it takes to cover all the bases....things should turn out a profit for you....If not, then contact me, and I will do all the leg work for you during this time....No Problem!

Btw, today I will be releasing a "BIG GAME PLAY"-CONF TOURNEY GOM selection for this March Madness ....This is the time of the season where these plays have dominated in All Major Sports combined...Below is my past "BGP" from the College Post Season .....My record of success with these Bad Boys speaks for ITSELF.

*Previous College Post-Season "BIG GAME PLAY" results..

      -Col Bases (2004-05) "BIG GAME PLAYS"-CWS RECORD posted a: 3W-1L= 75%

*College Post Season "BIG GAME PLAYS"-RECORD Combined: 12W-3L= 80%.
(all plays posted and Documented at the ** and/or Cover*)

Posted in this tread above is last seasons "BIG GAME PLAY"-TOURNEY GOY play, with its Very Indepth Write-Up and Big Game Analysis....I reposted it to show everyone the quality and value of these plays, as well as, the lengths and capping angles which I put in to these solid plays....No stone is left unturned when it comes to these BGP plays....They are my BEST PLAYS and they continue to show why that is..... Never miss any "BIG GAME PLAY" selection I put out...

Anyways, I got a SPECIAL-WEEKENDS PLAY PACKAGE (Sat and Sunday) which I will include, FOR THE 1ST TIME, this "BIG GAME PLAY"--GOM selection included in this Weekend Package, and at no additional cost, for everyone who comes on board for the Weekend.....Solid deal, as this "BGP" is priced at $50 alone, and usually only Weekly and Week-Ending Plays Package holders get these plays included...But, since this is the last Weekend, before the "Big Dance", I wanted to give everyone an opportunity to hurt the Man with this solid play.... THIS IS A SUPER SOLID DEAL ON THE LAST SUPER SATURDAY, NO DOUBT!

GT looking good right now, up by 6pt at the half over NC...so I will give out this play as my 2nd Comp Play for Super Saturday...Enjoy!

            *TOP RATED COMP PLAY ON:

            Wisky -4

-Iowa won 5 straight and Wisky won 4 straight....but, I like the fact that the Badgers are doing it with solid defense as they have been doing all year...3 of Iowa's last 5 by 2 pts and the other 2 games won was vs two of the Big Ten's worst teams in Penn St and Purdue....Wisky started their 4 game win streak with a solid 8 pt win at Ohio St and remember this was at Ohio St, where the #1 Illinois team was upset...Then they beat a surging Indy team, Purdue, and then Ohio St team again, but this time on a neutral court by 11 pts....Iowa's recent win streak, and their upset over Michigan St yesterday is solid, but....the only thing that should be noted in these wins for the Hawkeyes, is that they were against the conference poor defenses, with only Mich St ranked the highest in Scoring Defense at 5th...Today, they face the Badger's # 1 ranked Defensive, who is only allowing opponents to average just 60 ppg against them this year.

*Other Stats and Trends I like favoring Wisky today:

-Wisky is ranked 3rd in 3 pt FG made per a game ...and 2nd in 3pt FG% at 39.4%

-Wisky is ranked 2nd in Rebounding Margin....Iowa is 6th.

            -Wisky is ranked 1st 3 pt FG % defense...Iowa is ranked 5th.

-Wisky is ranked 2nd in 3 pt FG%...Iowa is ranked 3rd.

-Wisky is ranked 1st in Scoring Defense in the conf, and 15th in the nation.....Iowa is ranked 9th.

The Badgers are a very disciplined tough minded team that plays physical defense, which have success in disrupting opponents tempo and most times frustrating undisciplined teams...Iowa is just 5-13 ATS vs good defenses teams allowing 64 pts or less this year...and the Badgers are the best in the Big Ten in defense..and also one of the best in the country as well...Defense wins games and I think it will be the difference today....This is the game, where I feel the Hawkeyes loss of Pierce will comeback to hurt them again, just like it did in their last game at Madison back on Feb 9th....Today, I side with the more disciplined and defensive minded Badger team led by Tucker and Wilkinson...GL and Aloha CC.

*UPDATE:... for SUPER SAT'S--"BIG GAME PLAY"--GOM!

*"BIG GAME PLAY"--CONF TOURNEY GAME OF THE MONTH selection on:

              FLORIDA E (68-62 WINNER!)

Gator's the SEC top scoring team with an average of 77.3 ppg....takes there HOT shooting offense and current Solid defensive play up against the SEC's West top seed and 20th ranked Alabama today in the SEC Semi-Final game in Atlanta....This one should be a very good game indeed, but I love the Gators to continue their dominance over the Crimson Tide again, and below is some of the reasons why I love this Gator team in this game.

The Gators are currently ranked # 1 in the SEC in Scoring Margin for the year at +14.3 ppg...and one reason for this is their defense, this year, has been playing solid ball ONLY giving up and average of 63.1 ppg....Still, other areas which the Gators have improved upon this year, which also played a part in their success and current HOT RUN these past games is their aggressive and physical play on the boards, someplace they were considered by many to be soft at...Well, this year the Gators have been proving a lot of critics wrong with their ranking of 2nd in the SEC, only behind Miss St's board bangers, led by All-American F Roberts, with a solid 7.2 rebounding margin for the SEC conf games...and a 6.4 rebounding margin for all games this year....Solid!

Bottom line, is the Gators have been playing very solid balanced ball both on offensive, where they rank 1st in the conf in Scoring Offense, and 1st in the FG%, as well as, on the Defensive end where they hold the 3rd best Scoring Defense in the SEC....The Gators, on offense, are also doing this by spreading the ball around effectively, and getting a lot of better higher % shots as their 3rd best ranking in Assist per game in the SEC conf can atest to...And this is Key for them, as they possess, a backcourt trio who can light it up from behind the Arc, something which is important as this is Alabama's strength what they depend on a lot.....In the Gator's game yesterday, this long range trio showed their deadly accuracy and poise from behind the Arc, hitting a season high 12 three pointers, 3 coming from G Robertson and G Brewer...and 5 from G Walsh, combining to go 12-of-24= 50%... But, this is not just team whose players got Hot in their game yesterday....No no no, the Gators are the only team in the SEC who has two players ranking in the top 10 in averaging more than 2.2 three point shots made per game, in G Roberson (1st in conf with a 3.15 avg pg) and G Walsh (7th in conf with a 2.2 avg pg), Alabama, btw, only has one player in the top 10 with Shelton (3rd averaging 2.79 per game).....Now that is consistancy from long range...and it is also another reason why I feel they will have the edge against Alabama's long range bombers...In addition, having two players with this ability also gives the Gator more opportunities to take a lead, extend a lead, and also to more importantly recover from a deficit...In these conf tourney games has shown, the teams who came out ahead were those who had the ability to do all three of these things, with their frontcourt leading the way....

Another area where the Gators have improved upon this year, and where I see them having an advantage in, is their aggressive and physical play on the boards...Currently the Gators are ranked 2nd in the Conf in Rebounding Margin, only behind Miss St...On the boards this year is where the Gators have been pounding the majority of their opponents...The Gator's downlow are led by Jr F Lee, who in their upset win over # 3 Kentucky two games ago had 10 rebounds leading all board bangers from both teams in that game....Lee is ranked 2nd in the conf in rebounding averaging 10.3 rpg, only behind Miss St's All-American F Roberts in this category....Still, in the Gator's game yesterday against the Bulldogs, they completely dominated by outrebounding them 32 to 22...and having a 14 to 6 offensive rebounding edge as well...Florida's Lee also had another big day as he outrebounded Roberts 9 to 5, which again led both teams in rebounding....However, Lee is not alone in grabbing the rock this year, as everyone seems to be helping out around the boards...And this has led to them as a team to rank 1st in the SEC in Defensive Rebounding and 2nd in Offensive Rebounding....Yesterday, the Gators frontcourt trio, of Walsh, Roberson, and Brewer, while leading all scorers with points...they also grabbed a combined 15 rebounds, 5 on the offensive end, as well as, 7 assist....Solid!....In the game with Alabama, the Gators were able to dominate them on the boards also outrebounding the Tide 46 to 23..and 16 to 4 on the offensive end....Today, I dont see why they cannot control the boards again...especially as it seems that the Tide are playing soft downlow, being outrebounded yesterday by Miss, and also outrebounded on the offensive end as well, in two of their last three games....Gators not playing soft this year down low and that is a Solid Positive for them today, especially after both Walsh, Roberson, and Lee was able to all score 18 pts a piece in that earlier blowout of the Tide...

Balancing out the solid offensive play of the Gators, have been their solid play on the defensive end...In the Gator's upset over Kentucky, their defense was able to come up big holding Kentucky's potent offense to a season low points total of ONLY 52 pts...In this win, the Gators defense also came up big by blocking 6 shots and grabbing 9 steals from the Wildcats, the most important coming in the final seconds of the game...In yesterdays game vs Miss St, the Gator defense came up big again, forcing 15 turnovers...12 steals and blocking 4 shots...Currently the Gators rank 3rd in Scoring Defense, 2nd in the SEC in Block Shots, and 5th in 3pt FG% defense holding opponents to just 32% from behind the Arc, important against this Bama team who can drain it from this area....In the earlier win over Alabama, the Gators defense came up big forcing 9 turnovers, 5 steals, and 3 blocks...to their 5 turnovers.....Also, in that game, the Gators knew they needed to attack and contain Alabama's Shelton, on the defensive end, and they did just that...holding this sharp shooter and the rest of the Crimson Tide's long range bombers to 5-of-17 from behind the Arc...and Shelton to only 6 pts total, on his 3-of-12, 25% shooting from the field....From what Alabama's G Shelton has done against Miss yesterday, where he hit 8 three's, I feel the bullseye already on his back just got a lot bigger for this Florida team's defense, especially because he was able to drain 7 three's in last years conf tourney game vs them...Key for the Gator's is to Stop Shelton first...They have done that in their blowout win, and it has been a tendency some times to fold when Shelton is not leading the way for them in point production.

Sidenote: Although the Tide's G Shelton was able to hit 8 three pointers, and go 9-of-12 from the field in their win over Miss...It should be noted that Miss is ranked 11th (2nd to last) in the conf in 3 pt FG% defense, allowing opponents to shoot 38% from behind the Arc...The Gators drained 12 three pointers against Miss St yesterday, but the Bulldogs are ranked 2nd in the league in 3pt FG% defense, only allowing 31% from behind the Arc....And they are also ranked 4th in FG% defense, while Ole Miss is ranked 10th in this category....Florida's offense vs the Bulldogs solid defense is way more impressive than Bama's was against a poor defense of the the Rebels...

Furthermore, in the Alabama/ Ole Miss game yesterday, besides G Shelton's hot day from behind the Arc, and his shooting 9-for-12 from the field, it should also be noted that the rest of the Tide players were ONLY 14-40 from the field and 5-of-14 from behind the Arc in their shooting....Hmmm, more reason to believe that if you shut down Shelton, the Tide fall...I am sure Coach Donovan saw these Statistics, if I did...

Turnovers, will also be the Key to this one...and I have to again give the advantage to the Gators, as their defense has played and consistantly forced opponents to hand it over to them...Whereas, the Tide has been committing more turnovers in several of their recent games against top conf opponents and that wont help them any against this opportunistic Gator defense one bit today....Currently, the Gators are ranked 5th in the conf in Turnover Margin...while Alabama is ranked 11th (2nd to last) in this category...Alabama also ranks last in Steals in the conf per game...Not good stats on the year for the Crimson Tide...and even worst seeing how there last game of the season vs Miss St, they committed 19 turnover while only forcing 9 Bulldog turnovers, not to mention that they were also outrebounded 42-39, and allowed Miss St to take 33 more shot attempts from the field, and 17 more shots from 3 pt land...I still dont know how the Bulldogs blew this one, but if they give the Gators this kind of opportunities they will be blowout again...as the Gators are the best shooting team in the Conf, something the Bulldogs aren't..

Sidenote: In the Gator's 5 game winning streak, their defense came up big holding opponents to average just 56 pts in this span...and they also have only averaged 13.8 turnovers combined during this span....Solid and important Stat!

*SOME SITUATIONAL EDGES FAVORING FLORIDA TODAY:

-Gators enter this one with a clear conscience, due to their finally beating Kentucky, which should help psychologically for the Gators....This big win seems to have put a huge step in the Gator's players, especially their veteran players who have never beaten the Wildcats since they arrived at Gainsville....And inaddition, their last game over the Bulldogs, was another big psychological plus for the Gators as they was able to get their Revenge from an earlier DD loss to them...In fact, if you watched the 1st half of the Florida/Miss St game, you see how the Gators are playing very loose, yet, confident as their shooting consecutive deep 3's several times, players dishing out behind the back passes, and reverse slam dunks, seems to display....And, this is a good thing and a good sign of a team in the zone, who is letting the game come to them...Perfect!

-Gators come in as one of the Hottest teams out their and playing with a hell of a lot of confidence right now...Bama is the top seed and ranked as well, and they are the hunted in this one, which is not the best spots to be in....Florida has a deep productive bench, one of their trademarks, but Alabama has had a lack of depth issues throughout the season, and if their starters are off their game or get into early foul trouble...it could spell trouble for them...Gators, have never won this SEC Tournament and this is the next Big Goal on the list according to Coach Donovan....I feel the Gators advantage in bench depth will help them move on over Alabama today..

-Gators comes in with the Hotter shooting Frontcourt star...in Roberson who is on Fire...He is 1st in scoring in the SEC, 1st in FT% with his 89%, 1st in 3 pt FG's made per game, and 3rd in FG%....Shelton is close behind....but Roberson in the past two games and is totally in a bigger Zone as he scored a combined 43 pts, with 21 pts vs #3 Kentucky and 19 pts in the win over the Bulldogs yesterday.....Alabama's Shelton, the last two games has scored a combined 35pts (Miss St and Miss)...but it is his previous 3 games to these two where he had a slump going 10-of-31 from the field...which should still be a cause for concern for Alabama against this tough Florida Defense, who will be gunning for him today...

*SOME STAT AND INFO, FAVORING THE GATORS:

-Florida has won 8 of their last 9 games vs Alabama....and the last being a 31 pt blowout, was the worse loss for the Crimson Tide this season...It also came one point short of tying the worst ever loss to the Gators in their series..
-Florida ranks 5th in conf in TO Margin...Bama ranks 11th.
-Florida ranks 3rd in the conf in Assist....Bama ranks 8th,.
-Florida ranks 2nd in Block Shots......Bama ranks 4th.
-Florida ranks 2nd in off rebounds...and 1st in defensive rebounding in the conf..
              -Florida ranks 5th in 3 pt FG% defense...Bama ranks 9th
-Florida ranks 1st in Scoring Offense and 1st in FG% Shooting in the SEC.....Bama ranks 2nd.
-Florida ranks 3rd in Scoring Defense in the SEC....Bama ranks 6th.

-Florida is 2-0 ATS and 3-0 SU on neutral courts this year.
-Bama is 1-2 ATS on a neutral court this year.
-Bama is 3-5 ATS and SU as a Dog
-Bama is 12-20 SU their last 32 games an Underdog.
-Bama is 1-5 ATS their last 6 games when playing with one or less days of rest.

In conclusion, the Gators enter this one as the Hottest team in the SEC in my opinion, as they now have won their last 5 games and 7 of their last 8 games..only losing at LSU by 4pts on Feb 19, during this span.....But, seeing as how the Tigers as well are on a major role and peeking earlier then the Gators were, that loss doesnt look to bad to me...After that loss though to LSU, the Gators have been playing very solid balanced ball offensively in their scoring and assist, both from the paint and perimeter...and they also have stepped it up a notch all year defensively, and most recently down the stretch heading into this conf tourney, where some were saying that this team is soft...Well, their stats in rebounding, steals, blocks, defensive FG%, etc, stat differently...and these Gators winning may physical games this year, with their toughnest and pounding people on the boards have gotten them in the position they are in to move on to the Conf Championship game following a win over this Alabama team who depends to much on Shelton's deep shooting....Florida's defense shut him down once this year, and I cant see any reason as to why they cant do it again....The Tide will have to face a Gator team that is peeking at the right moment and that spells trouble for them today....With this said, take Florida E, as a "BIG GAME PLAY"--CONF TOURNEY GAME OF THE MONTH selection.....GL AND LETS GO GET EM!...ALOHA CC.

*please disregard any grammatical errors and mistakes, etc..as I had no time to edit this book.....Thanks.

                *TOP RATED COMP PLAY ON:

                Pacific +3

Pacific own the nations longest winning streak with 22 consecutive wins....and now find themselves ranked 16th in the nation, but are the underdogs in this game, and to a Utah St they already beat....Hmmm...In fact, the Tigers has beaten the Aggies the last 3 straight games they played...and Utah St is just 4-19 their last 23 games vs a ranked opponent...Coincidentally their 4 wins in this span has all been against the University of Utah...

The Tigers although are ranked and have a record with over 20 wins...they are not automatically assuming that they are guaranteed an automatic bid into the Big Dance....Why?....Because, last year, the Aggies who were in somewhat the same position, were denied an invite to the dance, despite a 25-4 record and a Top 25 ranking...So, this is a good thing as the Tigers, according to their coach is not leaving anything to chance, or taking anything for granted..and that makes me like the Tigers even more in this one, knowing they will need to win this game...This line may be favoring the Aggies because most feel that Pacific will get an automatic invite into the Big Dance....Well, I dont care what others think or feel, as long as the team playing feel they need to win, eventhough they dont....I am going to side with them, and thus taking the points in this one.

The Tigers in their last game got a good scare, and a miracle win, which continued their winning streak and also their chances of securing that NCAA Tourney bid..,with a chance to play tonight agaibst the Aggies...In that game vs Northridge, Pacific was down 8pts with 37 seconds to play, but miraculously pulled out a victory as Mike Webb drilled a pair of 3-pointers before Maraker nailed a jumper with 2.5 seconds left...Unreal...Talk about blessed or devine intervension....Whatever you want to call it, I feel this is the Tigers year and they are surely being blessed with many close wins that could of gone the other way.....However, one big reason for their success this year, has to start with their veteran team...as 7 of their top 9 players are all Seniors, with the other two being Jr's...This is a solid advantage to have going into tourney games vs teams with a lot of younger players making their first appearance in the post season....This experience and veteran leadership, should carry them very far in the Tourney....Today I like the Tigers to extend the nations largest winning streak to 23 games, with a solid win..gaining their Guarantee ticket to the Big Dance..

*Some Stats and Trends I like favoring the Tigers tonight:

-Pacific is 7-0 ATS and 7-1 SU vs good defensive teams allowing 64 pts or less per game...
-Pacific is 13-2 SU vs teams with a winning record....and 7-0 SU vs teams with winning records after 15 + games...
-Pacific is 4-0 ATS and 3-1 SU as a Dog.....and also 20-9 ATS as a Dog the last 29 games..
-Utah St is just 1-6 ATS their last 7 games vs good defensive teams allowing 64 pts or less per game...
-Both Utah St and Pacific shoot very well from the field...over 50% averages....But, Pacific is ranked 1st in FT % ...while Utah St is ranked 5th at the line...and this could be the difference if this one goes down to the wire like their previous meeting did..
-Pacific has won the last 3 games between the two teams.
-Pacific is 5-1 ATS vs Utah St the last 6 games..
-This is in California so the Tigers should have more fans on their side...then the Aggies from non-Alcohol land..
-Utah St on the Road this year is 9-6....Pacific is 14-1, only loss coming at Kansas back on Dec 4th, by 11 pts..

Utah St does have several motivating incentives on their side tonight, and although Pacific may have already secured a bid to the Dance...I feel that the Tigers as well have some big incentives on their side also...One of them is playing for at least an 8th seed which they can get with a win over Utah St tonight....They also, are playing to continue and extend their nation's longest winning streak....Plus, I dont see them coming out not to win, as that is never a good way to go into the NCAA Tourney...and expecially after winning 22 of your previous games....Continuing their winning ways is important for the success of the Tiger's in the tournament, and Coach Thomason knows this....Tigers will not lay down tonight, not against their conference rival and not with many advantages for them to gain with a win..

I'll take the points with the Best FT% shooting team in the Big West conf..as every point will be important in this one, and thus having extra points with the better team, who has a lot also to play for, is a solid positive edge on the Tigers side in my opinion...Also, remember it was the solid FT shooting of Pacific which played a part in their 1 pt victory at Utah St...and also a reason they were able to hold a lead and win by 7 pts in their first game at home against the Aggies......Oh yeah, and for those who like to follow that theory that its hard to beat a team 3 times in one season, well with this line the Tigers wont have too.....GL and Aloha CC. (excuse the grammatical errors and typos..no time to edit, Thxs)

                        FYI:..."BIG MONDAY" in the NIT!

                        Aloha GANG,

Today is a new week and the start of the most exciting Post-Season play of the year and it is also the Best time of the season where I have proven to be able to do a lot of damage on the Man....Today on "BIG MONDAY" we begin our run in MADNESS....LETS ROCK!

                        **TOP RATED PLAY ON:

                        Marquette -1

Last Wednesday, I went against these Golden Eagles in the opening round of Conf USA's Tournament and it paid off for us with a solid Top Rated Play Winner on TCU....However, today, I am on the Golden Eagles in this match-up in this first round game of the NIT....And, below are some of the reasons why I am going with the Diener-less Golden Eagles over WMU, the MAC's West's Division Regular Season Champs, in this one...

                        REASON # 1: Rebounding....

Although, Travis Diener's absence has hurt the production of this Marq team on the offensive end with his absence...it hasnt hurt them so much in way of Rebounding Edge....The Golden Eagles are still one of the conference's best rebounding teams, which is led by Sr F Jackson, who is ranked 6th in the league with his solid 8+ rpg average....As a team, the Golden Eagles finished the regular season ranked 1st in Rebounding Margin with an reb edge of +6 and also 1st in Rebounding Defense...This is an important stat to have, especially with the absence of Diener's offensive production.

In the last 4 games which the Golden Eagles played, they were able to win the battle of the boards in all them, including at #21 Cincy...Plus, they were able to grab more rebounds in 3 or the 4 games as well....Overall, in this span, Marq held a rebounding edge of +10 over their opponents.(36.25-to-26.25)...Solid!

What I find also a big positive for Marq also, is the emergence of reserve Sr F Townsend who during this 4 game span has really stepped up his game around the board, both in rebounds and in scoring....During the last 4 games, he has improved his rebounding average of just 2.7 rpg to a solid 6.5 rpg....Also, his offensive production also almost doubled rising from 5.8 ppg to 10.25 ppg during this span....In Marq's last game vs TCU he came up big with 8 rebounds and 14 points in the loss....

Townsends recent solid play is important for three reasons today, one being that leading rebounder Sr F Jackson, although still active and dominant on the boards, he is still in a bad scoring slump....Second, Marq will definately benefit from his play around the paint, as W Mich is a solid rebounding team, who ranked 2nd in the MAC in Rebounding this season.....And lastly, Townsends presence downlown with Jackson, will allow 6'10" Jr F Novak more opportunities to set plays for him to take more shots from behind the Arc, where he is just as or even more deadly than Diener was, as he leads them in 3 pt FG% at 47% (3rd in the Conf)(88-of-187)...and averages 2.90 three point FG's per game (5th in the Conf)....Novak will need to hit some big shots tonight, and Townsend and Jackson's dominance downlow will give him more opportunites to that.

Sidenote: One player who worries W Mich's Coach Hawkins is Steven Novak, who is one of the nations premier long-range shooters....Novak, due to Marq's loss of leading scorer Diener has been looked to to take charge of the offense, which he has been doing scoring 18.5 ppg in Dieners absence, including a 25 point effort in the loss to #21 ranked Cincy.

REASON # 2: W Mich, may still be reeling after that disappointing loss to 7th seeded Buffalo on Friday.....

W Mich, who finished the season as the MAC's West division Champs, and who went to the NCAA Tourney last season...Had expected that they would be back to the Big Dance again this year...and would of possibly gotten there if they was able to beat the Bulls, a team they dominated and beaten already this year and who they were able to take a huge momentum and an 8 pt lead into the half against....But, that all fell through as they couldnt stop the Bulls from taking advantage of them in the paint and was outscored and outrebounded by the bigger Bulls..

This loss was a very hard pill to swallow, for several reasons....And there seemed to be very little comfort following Friday's defeat...I feel, that the Broncos maybe still suffering from losing this game they could of and certainly should of won...and some of the most recent comments made by them relay this..."It hurts, man. To lose last night, it hurts a lot," senior guard Ben Reed said...Said junior guard Brian Snider: "Waking up this morning, my body hurts a lot more knowing that we lost. Obviously, anytime, especially when you lose, you reflect back on what went wrong. We had an 11-point lead and felt we had the game in our hands. Obviously, there was a turn of events and you try to figure out what went wrong."..."Obviously we're still in the process of getting over the loss last night, but this goes a long way toward that," WMU coach Steve Hawkins said Saturday night...

Marq had time to deal with their faith after their Mr Everything G Travis Diener was lost for the season with an injury to his left hand on Feb. 22....and they are very happy and motivated to be able to play in the post season, especially after 1-3 in his absence....Marq players were said to be very estatic to at least have a post season game...W Mich, on the other hand, is a disappointed team who had their hearts set on going to the Big Dance for a 2nd consecutive time...and having to be given this consolation Tournament to play in is definately not helping them at all to get over it....Not good, for them as they show the signs of a team who is likely to come out flat and with less focus...

This situation for W Mich, is similar to those in CFB when a team expecting to go to a higher markee Bowl game is sent to a lower minor bowl....They usually dont play to well, especially against their motivated opponent.

REASON # 3: Fatigue Factor and Short Preparation time for W Mich...

This will the Broncos 3rd game in 4 days...and 4th consecutive Road game since March 5th loss to Ball St....And, it is starting to show...as tired legs, led to cold shooting, by the Broncos...who shot a LOWLY 19% from the field in the 2nd half and was outscored, 20-12, in the final 7 minutes against Buffalo....

W Mich who ranks 2nd in the conf in Scoring Offense averagin 73.5 ppg....only averaged 67 points in their last two games, after putting up 81 pts previously at Ball St....And, it also seems that their stingy and solid 3rd ranked Scoring Defense, allowing just 67.7 ppg has suffered as well, as they gave up an average of 74.3 ppg in the last 3 games..

Now, following this loss on Friday....they had yet another short-turnaround to recover from and prepare for the Golden Eagles...Well, the Broncos had time to hold just one practice in Milwaukee on Sunday night, their only on-court preparation for the Golden Eagles -- Furthermore, Bronco's Coach Hawkins, also admitted that he has no idea what his team will face when Marquette (19-11) takes the floor....He stated that Marquette's statistics and record are irrelevant, and that viewing Film on the Golden Eagles is almost worthless, mainly due to fact that they play differently now because of Diener's absence...In my opinion, I think that he is making giving himself an out, should they lose this game...which I think he may be feeling, after Fridays game they will....Hmm, a little to much reading between the lines on my part....Maybe, but you cannot forget the fact that there is still 4 other players besides Diener who plays at the same time, or that there were games when Diener came back that he didnt play the entire game....How did Marq adjust during these times? Maybe, Coach Hawkins is to over confident because Diener is not playing....Whatever the case may be, he should of prepared better despite Diener's absence or not..

Sidenote: Golden Eagles coach Tom Crean grew up in Mount Pleasant and is a veteran of the Central Michigan-WMU rivalry...so he is very familiar with W Michigan's basketball program and personal....This is an advantage for the Golden Eagles..

Sidenote: Also, unlike W Mich, Marq has had 5 games to prepare and gameplan for the Broncos...as well as, addressing their so-called achilles heal which everyone seemingly knows is commiting turnovers....In their last game vs TCU, they blew their chances of moving on by commiting 23 turnovers that led to 25 pts....I am sure, that Coach Crean, with this time has been able to practice and work on protecting the ball more...He knows what the problem is with his team, and this was that they dont protect the ball, they need to look up the floor, they need to attack more, they need to advance the ball, and they need to stop running away from doing this...Coach Crean, also expects teams to use more trapping and pressure defense as this is what has been working against them and what TCU successful did to help them overcome an 8 pt deficit with less than 3 mins to play in the game.....Coach Crean, and the whole world knows this is how you attack the Golden Eagles...but, working in his favor and against W Mich, is the fact that they had 5 days to practice on correcting this and also on preparing for W Michigan's duo studs in Reed and Rost....Big Advantage for Marq.

REASON # 4: Marquette Home Court Advantage....

W Mich must now handles playing in this hostile environment of the Bradley Center where Marquette is extremely comfortable and has posted a 15-5 record this season....Another reason why I like the Golden Eagles tonight....In addition, winning on the road this season has not come easy for W Mich who is 9-10 away from home this year, including 8-7 in true road.....More importantly though, is the fact that 7 of these games won on the Road this year has occurred in games played before mid-January....and that W Mich has currently loss 3 straight games played away from home....and 8 of their last 9 games played on the Road.

                        REASON # 5: Marq's Defense....

The Golden Eagles have started off the year playing solid defense....but this play on defense has been more strongly emphasized and relied upon, even more so, with the loss of Diener...Marq on the season is ranked 6th in the conf in Scoring Defense allowing just 65.3 ppg, and in FG% Defense allowing 41% shooting from the field....In their last 4 games, without Diener, they have held opponents to just 61.5 ppg, only 36.2% shooting from the field, and just 34% from behind the Arc....and the last three games they held opponents to just 55.3 ppg, only 34% shooting from the field, and only 32% from behind the Arc...Solid!

In their last game vs TCU, the Golden Eagles defense helped them go into the half only down by 6pts...and they came out in the 2nd half and held TCU to ONLY 15.2% shooting.....allowing them to put together a 12-0 run to take a late lead to go up 49-42 with a little over 3 mins left to play...Turnovers though, in the end, killed them down the stretch...Today, if they can limit them, then I see their defense coming up big again...

Inconclusion, W Mich..although featuring a very good offensive balance with leading scorers Ben Reed (17.8 points per game) and Levi Rost (16.5), who look to push the ball and dominate the glass like they have done in the MAC conf, out-rebounding their opponents by almost seven rebounds per game this season...I feel that they will not find things that easy tonight vs this solid rebounding team of the Golden Eagles led by Jackson and Townsend down low....Also, Marq's slower tempo offense and zone defense should work in their favor in keeping this Bronco's offense under wraps, meantime disrupting them from finding any rythum which they like to establish....Sometimes, this style of Zone defense which Marq used on TCU and which they will use tonight really frustrates teams like W Mich who like to run it...

Tonight, the Golden Eagles have a huge advantage in hosting this NIT game on their floor....And, they also have an additional advantage in catching this very good Bronco team on their 3rd Road game in 3 days, as well as, coming off of a very disappointing loss which cost them a shot at the Big Dance...and which they could still be reeling because of it...This is Marq's second chance at the post season play, which they werent sure they could get, but which they are very excited in being a part of....The loss of Diener was big loss for them, amd eventhough they have lost 3 of their last 4 games without him in the lineup,...I seen them really stop playing inspired and no-quit ball, during his absence....I feel that today, they will continue to playing hard, and will do so even more as they have a chance to play infront of their fans and on their home floor where they are strong....National TV also provides the extra motivation to do well, and thus their fans will help them keep there focus and energy level at the highest for the entire 40 mins....Marq -1 is the play today, so lets go Golden Eagles.....GL and ALOHA CC.

-Ok Gang....lets start off this "March Madness" with a big bang today...This is an exciting time of the year, so dont miss out on any NCAA or NIT Tourney games I got coming up....Just contact me and I will hook you up with one of my Madness-Plays Packages....GL to Us and LETS GO GET EM!....Aloha CC.

                          Update:..for "BIG DISAPPOINTING MONDAY"!

This game between Marq and W Mich had to be the worse game I have witnessed in awhile...I knew that W Mich may struggle shooting on the road a bit..which they did, hitting just 36% from the field and just 22% from behind the Arc ....But, what I didnt expect was for this Marq team to ever duplicate their worst performance of the season when they played St Loius and scored just 39 points....

Well, today they did as Marq shot just 28% from the field and a UNFREAKIN BELIEVABLE 4% from behind the Arc...Are you kidding me!....Nope!...Marq went 1-for-22 from 3 pt land for 4% .....And one of the Conf USA's 3rd best 3 pt FG% shooter in F Novak, who averages a scorching 47% from behind the Arc, shoots ONLY 12% going 1-for-8 from behind the Arc....and 1-for-10, 10% from the field..... A combined 1-for-18 night for Conf USA's top 10 shooter.... WTF! :angryfire

Anyways Gang...not the way I wanted to start the first day of "March Madness" ....I did at least hit the Under 137 ...but this was still embarassing game, no doubt!....However, its only one game Gang..and like always, I will respond back in a Big Way....Tomorrow I will post another comp play for everyone again...So check back later if interested.....Till then, thanks for letting me vent .. Un-freak-in-be-leav-a-ble. game...Thank God its over....Ok, on to Tuesday......Aloha CC.
