Providence -5.5 (2 Units)
Seton Hall had their 9 game win streak snapped at Pittsburgh on Wednesday, as they were taken behind the woodshed in a 32-point loss. That loss can go a long way and totally deflate any sort of confidence this team had during their winning streak. If they were heading home that would be once thing, but they have to try and regroup as they go on the road once again. Providence has been playing some good basketball themselves winning three of their last 4 including a win at Connecticut in their last game on Wednesday. The Friars are averaging 75 ppg at home while the Pirates are scoring just 63 ppg on the road. Providence is shooting 45% from the floor and 37% from three compared to 39% and 27% for Seton Hall home/away. During this five game stretch, the Friars are shooting 48% from the floor and are hitting over 80% of their free throws. Providence actually leads the Big East in free throw % at 79.2% and Seton Hall is near the bottom of the conference in fouls committed with nearly 20 per game. A Providence win assures them of no worse than a 4th place finish in the East division and a win coupled with a Villanova loss to Pittsburgh gives them 3rd place. Seton Hall has won the last 3 meetings but they have not met at PCC since 1999. Confidence is clearly in the corner of the Friars and look for them to ride that to a big win over the Pirates on Saturday.
