Hi Savage
I had some spare time today and was surfing threads and found the below statement. We have talked about this before but just wanted to throw my 2 cents in on why I disagree with you and what it looks like from the other side of the desk.
Killer-no matter what the big paid services try to do, they are a dying breed and will become nearly extinct in the next few years, as virtually everyone will have a computer or know someone who does and get all the picks for nothing;the monstrous and increasing number of hits on the service request thread on this forum alone on a daily basis is testimony to that
1. Many people don't have the time and don't want to spend the effort dealing with the message boards on a daily basis or waiting around for someone to post that may or may not show up that day.
2. To much information from to many sources in the service thread over a short period of time. Someone with less experience with sports gambling will still have problems digesting and utilizing the information provided as well as playing blind without any analysis or thought process behind the play.
3. The available market is still in a growth pattern.
4. People want plays when they are released to evaluate the selections and line movement. Getting plays off of the boards does not always allow for that.
5. Who uses a service? I would say a bigger % are not your day to day posters on message boards. Most of my clients are professional people who could care less about what is on a message board. Most importantly they want winners, reliable information, fair lines, games graded properly, documented records, plays available on time, a cost structure that meets their needs and quality analysis.
Services are not going away but the scamdicappers certainly could be weeded out. There is only one way to fix the service problem as I see it.
If your service is not documented by a legit 3rd party simply dont use them. Big small or otherwise.
Until the public raises the sports service ethics bar nothing will happen with this Sad but true. Just as with any business the good will survive while the weak go out of business. As long as there is sports gambling there will be services because no matter how you spin it there will always be players looking for help that lack confidence but still love the action. You would be suprised how many guys are happy just winning consistenly or even staying even for an extended period of time. The price of a service is well worth it to them if they can learn some money management, maybe win a little, have action and keep the wife and girlfriend off their case becuase they are not spending all their free time capping or on the computer
