    THURSDAY FREE PLAY

    8pm ET
    Wisconsin-Milwaukee (17-5) at Loyola-Chicago (7-15)

    Recommended Play: Loyola-Chicago +6.5

    Preview courtesy of TSN -

The Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers continue their quest for the Horizon League title as they take on the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers at the Gentile Center in the Windy City tonight. Milwaukee has won two straight games and 10 of its last 11 overall to improve to 17-5 on the year and 10-2 in league play. On Saturday, a strong offensive showing enabled the Panthers to post an 85-75 decision over Illinois-Chicago. They are 8-3 in true road games this season, a strong mark by any measure. Loyola has only managed five wins in its 10 home games, but that mark isn't bad when considering the team's 7-15 overall record. The Ramblers have actually played fairly well lately, as three of their last five outings have resulted in victory. On Saturday, they were clearly superior to Wright State in a 74-57 win. UW-Milwaukee rolled to a 73-56 victory over Loyola earlier this season, and the Panthers now own a 16-13 lead in the all-time series between the two teams.

For the season, UW-Milwaukee is averaging 73.7 ppg while limiting opponents to 62.4 ppg on 40.5 percent shooting from the floor. Ed McCants leads the way offensively with 17.2 ppg, but his 39.8 percent shooting from the floor is less than impressive. Joah Tucker adds 14.7 ppg to the lineup for the Panthers, and Boo Davis is contributing 10.3 ppg. That trio was tremendous for UWM in the 10-point victory over Illinois-Chicago last time out. Tucker led the way with 26 points, and McCants pitched in 22 points despite a 6-of-21 shooting effort. As for Davis, he contributed 20 points in 23 minutes, as those three players accounted for all but 17 of the team's points in the win.

The Panthers turned the ball over 18 times on the night, but they shot 47.5 percent overall and limited UIC to just 40 percent shooting efficiency.

Loyola connected on 56.5 percent of its field goal attempts against Wright State on Saturday and limited the Raiders to 41.2 percent efficiency. The Ramblers nailed 10-of-16 three-point attempts, perhaps the most obvious reason that they were able to win so easily. Blake Schilb was tremendous in the victory, as he tallied 26 points to go along with a career-high eight assists.

Schilb did commit a high total of seven turnovers, but he more than made up for the mistakes. DaJuan Gouard pitched in 15 points for Loyola thanks to a 3- of-5 effort from behind the arc. Schilb is scoring 16.5 ppg this season to go along with 5.3 rpg, 87 assists and 35 steals. Gouard is pitching in 13.5 ppg for the Ramblers and appears healthy after missing time due to a knee injury.

    Good luck
    Mike Thomas
