Phil Steele/Northcoast "Does" It Again.

Well, Phil Stool has done it again.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse than his pitiful NFL GOY on Denver against KC, a game which they got pummeled 45-17, The Stoolster has outdone himself.
If you recall, prior to the Sunday on which he released his Denver play, Phil went on all week on the comp. line telling us how exclusive the play was, and that unlike the other services out there he would release only ONE GOY, and he took pride into announcing that he waited for week 15 to have one.
Boy in view of what he said, that must have been embarrassing especially as the game was a total blowout.
Well earlier today on his comp. lines he gave the same speech about JB.
He stated that JB is very conservative, and that this is JB's FIRST 4* in the first three months of the NBA and not to miss it because of this.
He also said how JB had told him(Phil) 5 days ago that he was waiting for this game, yada, yada, yada.
In in view of all that, one would expect a total total rout(the play was Minnesota).
As we all saw, Minn. as usual collapsed and did not even win the company let alone cover the 7 point spread, and once again Phil put his foot in his stool I mean mouth.
What gets me is how arrogant and cocky Phil is when he talks about one of these GOY's, like it is a cinch or something.
Not to boast, but those of you who read the service thread know I warned everyone about betting Laker games and totals at all let alone ones involving GOY's.
Well, on the other hand, don't feel too bad for Phil or JB, as I am sure they shared the proceeds from the suckers who called the 900 number for $20.
In any event, stay tuned as I am sure this weekend that Phil will be touting the NFL and MORE importantly those two college (monkeyshine) allstar games, for which I am sure Phil has the right sides and totals;no matter what he says, he has done not very well in these, the last few years, and I would bet him that I could do as well by flipping a coin on the sides and totals of college allstar games as he can be claming to be able to handicap them(how can you handicap one team of strangers playing another team of strangers?).
Well thanks to all who took the trouble to read this;I just had to get this off my chest.

I don't want to be rude, but why do you continue to call his and other comp lines if you put no value in them? It doesn't make sense to me that you get that agitated by them and their records (rightfully so), but don't stop calling.

You are not rude, and actually some of the comp. plays are pretty good;that is why I call.
That being said, I and others have to listen to what Phil and others say first before receiving the comp(unless we put the phone down).
I for the most part listen to these guys, and although it is painful especially with Phil as he is so longwinded, I do listen to his ads along with his cockiness.
Thus, when he gives a big promo as he did with his losing GOY (Denver/KC) and then tonight with JB(loss with Minn.), and both games fall way short, I feel it my duty or whatever you want to call it to let people who read this thread know about it so that the next time Phil(or any other capper) makes an asshole of himself with big stupid promos that he cannot live up to, then perhaps at least a few of the folks may remember what I said especially if it happens enough times and I keep harping on it.
I have this little voice inside of me which tells me to tell it as it is regarding the different cappers-the good or more often the bad and the ugly.
I hope you understand my intent better now.

No worries. Just didn't make sense to get upset by the B.S. these guys throw out if you can control it by not calling them! Personally, I don't think it's worth the effort to dial the phone to them, but I am in the minority as you can see by the amount of service play views. It's unfortunate as A LOT of great cappers and info gets missed by peeps just getting the service plays for free. Anyway, enough about the con men. Goodnight and GL!!!!

Capperjohn-what you say is true to an extent, and most would agree and say why bother with them.
I may be a little obsessed with these guys and calling them, but you know what, I would rather do that then become compulsive about gambling itself especially as I just turned 60;you might say for me it puts the gambling into perspective;I don't bet big compared to most(my big money is in the market), but I enjoy doing what I do, reading the other posts and hopefully I give a little back with what I say, some of which is written to tryn to entertain as well as inform.

Savage Im not backing Phile Steele but one reason people go to him is indeed because of his rep of actually being as honest as possible.You cannot compare Phile Steel to the cronies like Big Al, Wayne Root, Jim Feist, etc......My guess is in the past you got burned big time with Phil and youre making a lifes mission to get him back or bad mouth him..Why waste your precious time. I dont think people will ever understand how services work. Isnt it funny that a 5 yr old can pick better than most of these services who have been doing this their entire lives? Well its true ONLY because this billion dollar sports service industry is ALSO a part of the protecting the casinos. Anyone who thinks that a bunch of millionaires(services) who have all the access on games via money or experience and they keep losing and losing is a coincidence is just naive. Isnt it funny services dont improve yet joe average gambler gets better every year. All of these people who are services gained attention inititally by kicking major ass in gambling and once they became a service they signed with the devil. You ever see services that go under the radar and actually care about their clients? They totally dismantle the games and win over and over. Instead of getting pissed off at these guys, realize your in the industry of gambling and if you expect class and honesty on a consistent basis in this industry, then well............you know the answer

Weisspalow-You make some great points and I agree with most of them;from my point of view ever since services got involved with deals with offshores(including Phil Steele I might add), I haven't trusted them or their motives.
You are correct also about kids picking the games better;this is no lie-last week I asked my 10 year old daughter to pick the NFL and she went 13-3 and this week 3-1 in the playoffs, and no she doesn't follow it.
Re: getting burned by Northcoast, that is not true, as 1) I don't bet especially big and 2) if you have read my posts for a while, you know I have picked on other cappers like Jack Price, Ty Gaston, Joh nny Demarco, etc. also
I actually spend more time on Steele simply because his comps and those of the community line are quite good.
The other side of the coin as explained in the initial post is that I hear what he says every day for 6-10 minutes(both comp. lines combined) and his tone of voice, his spin, etc.
Yes he is honest and that his part of his overall marketing plan, and I commend him for that.
On the other hand when he goes on ad nauseam about how "special" his 5*'s and those of other cappers are (as stated in other post), and the games go up in flames, I feel it my obligation to point out that Phil is not the rosy white paragon of virtue that he would want us to believe;he wants to make money too and will use any means to do it.
Yes, he is a cut above the others. and I would actually be happy if he was more modest in the way he advertises big games and for the matter cut down on the lengthy tapes;he tries to tout too many different things and goes on too longabout his own service on one tape or about too many different cappers on the community line and loses his audience in so doing.
What I say while cutting and derisive, it is also intended as constructive criticism.

NorthCoast lives on reputation alone as he has struggled big time this year. I know that they have been around a long time and back in the day were very respected because they were very good. Times have changed a bit recently.

It is funny because you can see the line movement when he releases a big game, only to have him harp on when you got the game in to get the win or loss. Although this year, he did not need that because usually the favorite that he selected as his GOY lost outright.

I have subscribed to his service a few years back and he was solid in the NFL and struggled in the NCAA. To his credit though, he is a marketing mastermind and does only release 1 GOY per season, unlike many others. He is also very honest about wins and losses on his 10 minute comp line.

As far as JB goes, he is very solid in my opinion. Just like every other capper, he gets hot and cold throughout the year.

Rumor has it that NCoast will have their Playoff GOY this weekend and the way they are picking them, you might wantto wait until twenty minutes before kick off and fade the selection.

Just my thoughts.
