    Indiana –5.5 (2 Units)

The Pacers return home after yet another road loss to the Celtics on Wednesday. Indiana has now lost their last 6 games, with 5 of those coming on the road. Indiana has one of the best home records in the league at 24-4 so a return home against a team that is once again trying to find their identity is just what they need. The Bucks have lost 6 of their last 7 and are 1-2 since the acquisition of Gary Payton. Milwaukee was one of the hottest teams in the league winning 13 of 16 games until this recent slump and now seem to be lacking any sort of chemistry on both sides of the ball. Their defense has steadily declined the last 4 games allowing 88, 90, 117 and 118 points. Their offense has gotten more on track recently but has only averaged 87 points in their last 4 road games. Indiana has gone over 100 points on offense just twice in their last 10 games but should find the going much easier at home and against the struggling Bucks D. They will get Ron Artest back for this game who was suspended by the team for their last game which certainly won’t hurt their rebounding advantage over Milwaukee. Indiana is a +5 on the boards at home while the Bucks are at –5 away. With Indiana coming home, we see a solid effort to halt their 6 game skid and try and regain some ground in the Eastern Conference standings. Even with their slump, they find themselves just ½ game behind Detroit in the Central and just 1 game behind New Jersey for the top spot in the East. What makes this game even bigger for the Pacers is the fact that they have to head back out on the road for a 4-game west coast trip starting Tuesday meaning a total of 9 road games out of 11 overall thanks to a big scheduling quirk. After Milwaukee, 8 of their next 9 games are against teams that will be heading to the playoffs so a game like this is very big in terms of momentum.
