Top Rated Play--released with my NFL "BIG GAME PLAY"-GOW selection, Winner on the Jags.

        **TOP RATED PLAY ON:

        NY GIANTS -1

-Today's game is meaningless to both teams as they were both eliminated from the playoffs a while back....So with this kind of game, it is very hard to even determine a teams motivation to play this game to win....But in this matchup, I do like certain situations which do exist between the two and which I feel will be the difference in the Giants coming out on the winning end....Now I know and saw Parcells ATS record in seasons finales, but this one is with a team which even he stated is dumb and one which he just cant seem to understand....So with that said, I sort of feel that he has stopped trying to understand this team and would rather just get this game over with.

Vinny will get the start in this game, which most are saying will be his last as he will retire after its done...In light of this information, I really dont see him going all out just to end his career on a winning note....Its been a terrible season for him, somewhat, and a terrible season for his team which some are saying is mostly his fault....Testaverde (3301 yards, 16 TD, 20 INT) was an early surprise this season, but injuries to his receiving corps haven't allowed him to recapture that success on a consistent basis. Last week he completed 23-of-39 passes for 234 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

He will still have senior veterans Keyshawn Johnson (963 yards, 6 TD), who had 9 catches for 84 yards last week, and this years Pro Bowl TE Jason Witten (903 yards, 5 TD), who had 6 catches for 50 yards, as well last, to throw too in this one.....But, that wont be so easy to do as one area that the Giants Defense is solid in all season is in its pass defense, where they rank 8th in the NFL allowing just 187.3 ypg.....Last week the Giants secondary held Cincy's aging QB Kitna to just 186 yards on 32 attempts, 2 TDs, and 1 interception....Today this secondary will try to get Testeverde to throw yet another interception which he done in his last 9 games...The Giants also are a solid team in rushing the QB and recorded 3 sacks on Kitna last week, which brought their sack total for the year to 37...which they are ranked 5th best in the league at doing....I think this ability by the Giants Big Dawgs up front and the cover ability of their secondary will be able to get Vinny to etiher rush his throws, leading to possible interceptions or to hold on to it to long thus being sacked....The secondary and d-line working together will help limit this pass attack of Dallas today.

For the Giants defense against the run....well today they face Dallas's rookie RB Jones who after coming back from injury was running very well...until last week were he only averaged a low 2.6 ypc and only 57 total rushing yards...Dallas this year, no doubt has been struggling to run the ball and Eddie George is no help to them....as the Cowboys ranking of 21st in the NFL rushing (108.1 yards per game), clearly shows....In last weeks lost to the Bengals, the Giants defense held Cincy's RB Johnson to only 31 yards on 19 carries and 1.6 ypc average...This is a good sign as to how hard this Giant's defense is determined to end the season..as they are ranked 28th in the NFL vs the run (133.3 yards per game), and could of easily folded again as they have allowed an opponents RB to rush for over 100 yards in the previous 3 games, for a total of 392 yards...Today in their last game at home, I will expect another solid opponent against Dallas aging veteran George and their rookie Jones......

On the other side of the ball, I see the Giants QB Manning being able to find more success vs this Dallas secondary who is very vulnerable through the air and rank 22nd in the league vs the pass, allowing 225.6 ypg this year....Manning hasnt won a game yet since he became a starter for the Giants, but he got a close taste of victory in last weeks game vs Cincy, which they lost on a 4th down jump ball catch by WR Johnson in the endzone...Manning although not leading his team to wins, has improved and played his best these past two weeks....He threw 2 TD passes vs Pitt and had over 200 yards through the air last week vs the Bengals...A solid performance over the Cowboys today seems to be the next thing in line for him today....But, a plus for Manning today is that he will have the benefit of a solid running game led by RB Barber (1423 yards, 12TD), which will help to make those play action passes a lot easier to take advantage of vs the Dallas defense who have been using a lot of blitzing schemes in order to give their weak secondary some help against getting burned....Tiki's is a big enough threat running as he has rushed for over 100 yards 9 times this season and scoring 12 TDs as well on the year, including 3 TDs in the last 3 games..This year, the Giants are ranked 12th in the NFL in rushing with 120.4 ypg average...and he should be able to reach this average as the last time he played the Cowboys, he had 122 yards, 1 TD, on just 23 carries....

Tonight, is the final game for the Giants and I like their chances very much because this one is also being played at home and on National TV...and no one wants to go out on National TV looking like a dud and especially in your own House...The Giants should be ready to end this season on a winning note, and with a win for their future QB Manning, who I also feel is ready to end this season with a win tonight....He knows how important it is for him and his team to end on a winning note which helps carries a postive over to next season....Because of this, Manning should have a lot of focus tonight and so will his teammates...Dallas had their season ending game at home last week for their loyal fans...Tonight, the Giants do the same for their loyal fans by getting another solid win over the Cowboys, who their own coach Parcels has called stupid and dumb.
