Preview courtesy of The Sports Network:

The scorching Miami Heat go for a franchise record 12th straight win tonight, as they welcome the Atlanta Hawks to AmericanAirlines Arena.

This is the second meeting of the season between the Heat and the Hawks. On November 24th, Miami knocked off Atlanta, 99-93, at Philips Arena. Overall, the Heat have won four straight contests in this series. Atlanta has lost five straight and 14 of its last 15 at Miami.

On Saturday, Eddie Jones and Dwyane Wade each scored four points in overtime to lift the Heat past the Los Angeles Lakers, 104-102, in the much-anticipated Christmas Day showdown at Staples Center. The game marked the return of Shaquille O'Neal to Los Angeles, where he played against Kobe Bryant for the first time. O'Neal spent eight seasons with the Lakers and captured three NBA championships alongside Bryant.

O'Neal fouled out with 2:15 left in the fourth quarter, finishing with 24 points and 11 rebounds in the win over the Lakers. Wade collected 29 points and 10 assists for the Heat, who tied a franchise record with their 11th straight win. During the 1996-97 season, the Heat also won 11 in a row.

Jones netted 18 points and pulled down seven boards, while Damon Jones and Udonis Haslem each had 11 points in Saturday's victory for Miami. Haslem also grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Heat are 11-3 as the host this season.

The Hawks enter tonight's contest well rested. Atlanta got back on the winning track on Wednesday night, tallying a 113-100 victory over the Dallas Mavericks at Philips Arena. Antoine Walker delivered 25 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, as Atlanta halted a five-game slide. Five other Hawk players scored in double-figures and Atlanta shot a sound 54 percent (46-of-86) from the field to post only its third win in 14 home outings this season.

Al Harrington compiled 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in Wednesday's win, while rookie Josh Childress tied a career-high with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting.

Atlanta is just 2-9 on the road this season.

    Good luck
