North Texas +18 (2 Units)
In their first meeting 7 games ago, La-Lafayette went to Denton and defeated North Texas by 31 points, so what should make this game any different? Well for one, the Cajuns haven’t exactly been overly dominating at home this season. Yes, they are 9-1 on their home floor but of their 7 wins against lined teams, they have only won twice by double digits with their biggest win 13 points over Florida International. Their average margin of victory in those 7 wins is just under 5 ppg. Second, La-Lafayette has a showdown on Wednesday with Western Kentucky for the regular season Sun Belt conference championship. The Cajuns haven’t beaten the Hilltoppers in over 2 years and are looking for some revenge as well from last year for keeping them out of the big dance. North Texas is only 4-10 on the road and 1-4 in conference play but they will get senior swingman Chris Davis back, who missed their final home game against South Alabama on Saturday with the flu. This was his first game ever missed at North Texas not counting his medical redshirt freshman season. Davis needs 76 points in his final 2 games and the conference tournament to break the school career scoring record so expect a full effort. While the Cajuns won’t lose this game, we don’t see a completely focused performance with the Hilltoppers right on the horizon.
