Vanderbilt Commodores at Oregon Ducks 7:00 PM ET
Oregon Ducks –5.5-110 (2 Units)
While this game is considered a neutral site game, it will be a full house for Oregon as this game is being played in Portland. There is something about the Rose Garden floor that brings out the best in the Ducks, who are undefeated in their previous six games at the Blazers' home arena. This is the first true road game for Vanderbilt who dropped both of their games on a neutral floor in Las Vegas last weekend. They were actually pounded in those games, losing by 14 and 19 points to Southern Illinois and Arizona St. respectively. They are averaging 17.5 ppg less than what they put up on their home floor. Oregon has been on fire from 3-point range. Guards Aaron Brooks and Bryce Taylor have exposed defenses that leave the perimeter open as each is shooting better than 42% from behind the arc. While the Ducks have been hot as of late, it is important that they learn from past failures and do not become dependent on the long-range shot but it is something they are well aware of. Forward Ian Crosswhite is one of four Ducks averaging more than 10 points per game. He is averaging 13.3 points per contest, while Brooks (17.0), Taylor (13.3) and guard Malik Hairston (13.7) are also averaging double figures. Vanderbilt's offense is comparable to Princeton's, as the Commodores spread the floor and rely on precise passing and backdoor cuts. Oregon will try and take that away by running and taking Vanderbilt completely out of their game. The Ducks have the bodies to run them right out of the gym as Oregon has played at least 11 players in all three games this season (and 13 in two of the three). What’s more, the Ducks have nine players averaging at least 10 minutes a game. The Ducks have held all three opponents below 40% shooting from the field, allowing an average of 38.1%.
