Mississippi St. +9 (3 Units)
Division leaders of the SEC square off in Lexington in what should be a tough, low scoring affair. Kentucky is the hottest team in the nation right now with 15 consecutive wins but if they are to go down, this is the type of team that can do it to them. The Wildcats are known for their stifling defense this season, allowing just 65 ppg overall and also at home. However, the Bulldogs are the better defensive team of the two, allowing 61 ppg both on the season and on the road. Both teams are giving up identical 58 ppg in their last 5. Mississippi St. is also one of the top rebounding teams in the nation with Mario Austin and Michal Ignerski down low. On offense, Kentucky is scoring 12 more ppg at home than the Bulldogs are on the road but the shooting percentages are an identical 48%. This is due to the different offensive styles as the Wildcats push the ball more than Mississippi St. and the Bulldogs will be more than happy to play a slow down game, especially on the road. Both teams shoot the three-pointer the same so neither has the advantage there. In what should be a low scoring, defensive battle, expect a grudge match and watch Mississippi St. put a scare into the Wildcats on their home floor. We will gladly take the generous points here.
