  • 3 Hoops Winners After Tuesday Sweep

Insider Edge Sports – Report For Wednesday, November 17, 2004

Early post due to early hoops.

We said Tuesday would be a 2-0 night and we meant it. Niagara and the Clippers easily cover the numbers as we head into an afternoon of college hoops for Wednesday. There are 2 winners for this afternoon, along with the Free NBA total for tonight. First game goes at 12:00 PM ET

Saturday will extend our Game of the Year releases to 7-0 on the season after we nail our NCAA Total of the Year! Full time members already have access to it in our weekly update section. Sign up for any package that goes through Saturday and you too will have access to it right when you sign up. The advantage is to get on it early since I expect movement on it by the time Saturday rolls around. And yes, the writeup behind it is there as well. Grab the Weekly, Monthly or Seasonal Package to get this one now!

    • NFL is 33-22(60.0%) this season
    • NCAA is 57-41 (58.2%) this season
    • Game of the Year Releases are 6-0 (100%)

Chicago Bulls at Golden St. Warriors 10:30 PM ET

    Over 180 Chicago/Golden St. –110 (2 Units)

Golden St. is averaging only 83.5 ppg, which is second to last in the NBA but the offense isn’t as bad as the defenses have just been better. In their 8 games, they have scored 100 points only once and that was against Charlotte, who is one of only 6 teams allowing an average of 100 points per game. The other 6 games have been against teams ranked 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th and 14th in the league in scoring defense. Chicago does not fit into that range as they are more in line with the Bobcats, allowing 103.0 ppg. The Bulls have given up at least 94 points in all of their games while allowing teams to shoot 45.8% on the season. The Golden St. defense is allowing 93.5 ppg but taking away the two games against Portland and Charlotte and that average increases to 97.2 ppg. They have allowed at least 90 points in 6 of their 8 games. The defense is 25th in the league in shooting percentage, allowing 46.6% from the floor. The Warriors play a small lineup with 6-foot-10-inch veteran Cliff Robinson at center. That means Eddy Curry is looking at a potentially big night and the Bulls have an opportunity to play the smaller and quicker lineups that have been effective in stretches. Head coach Scott Skiles continues to emphasize getting the ball inside and they should have success against the Warriors thus creating some easy shots. In a 97-96 loss against the Los Angeles Clippers in their last game, Tyson Chandler and Curry combined for 37 points and 24 rebounds. As a team, the Bulls scored a season-high 42 points in the paint. Warriors head coach Mike Montgomery is stressing early offense at every opportunity, from practices to video sessions to timeout huddles. "I do think we have to run the floor better," Montgomery said. "We have to get out and force the other team to have to defend us on the move and see if that can't open some things up and get us some easy baskets.
