Brown Bears at Missouri Tigers 8:45 PM ET

    Missouri Tigers –20 –110 (2 Units)

Missouri will start this year by trying to put last year behind them. High expectations led to disappointment as the Tigers could only make it to the NIT, losing in the first round. Selfish play along with ongoing controversy about payment to players was disastrous. A fresh start and a new team concept will lead them in a better direction as will the brand new Paige Sports Arena which will be christened on Monday. The exhibition season was a huge success and should carry over into the regular season. Missouri outscored its two opponents, 78-26 in the paint and forced 40 turnovers, converting them into 56 points in the two contests. Sophomore guard Thomas Gardner, junior guard Jimmy McKinney, senior guard Jason Conley and freshman guard Jason Horton form a solid backcourt that Brown can't even come close to matching. However their best player is inside in sophomore forward Linas Kleiza, who led the team in scoring during their exhibition games. The Bears do have reigning Ivy League Player of the Year Jason Forte but he won’t be playing Monday meaning they will have no seniors on the floor while losing 16.8 ppg. Forte was suspended because of his practice habits and lack of leadership ability according to head coach Glen Miller. Besides that, the Bears lost an additional 40 points a game when Jaime Kilburn, Mike Martin and Patrick Powers graduated. This game has blowout written all over it and the Tigers are looking for their fifth straight win in season openers and their 31st straight win in home openers.
