Western Kentucky –7.5 (2 Units)
The Hilltoppers sit atop the Eastern division of the Sun Belt Conference with a 9-2 record and 17-8 overall. After their game with the Florida International, they go out of conference for a game against Ball St. in the Bracket Buster on Saturday so a win on Wednesday would give them a 2 game lead over Middle Tennessee St. heading into the homestretch of the season. While they are only 3-8 on the road, they have played some tough non-conference competition away from home that includes Arizona, Butler, Murray St. and Pacific. In total, their 8 losses have come against teams that are a combined 116-66 (.637) with Evansville the only team under .500. They have accomplished this without C Chris Marcus, who played a total of 39 minutes and F Todor Pandov, who played only 23 minutes. David Boyden and Nate Williams have played exceptional in their absence down low. The Golden Lions on the other hand have had a miserable season after what looked to be a good start. They won their first 3 games that included wins over Princeton and Iona but have gone 3-16 since and should be no match against Western Kentucky again. The Hilltoppers won the first meeting by 20 points and a similar result is quite possible. Western Kentucky has no look-ahead coming up, as the Ball St. game isn’t what is was supposed to be, while Florida International is in neutral mode right now just playing out the season.
