It's hard to believe that this Alabama team was ranked #1 just a few short weeks ago. Since they grabbed the top spot, they have gone a dismal 3-8 and have seen their SEC title hopes and possibly a trip to the big dance diminish. While the SEC championship is out, a tournament bid is still a possibility. A strong finish and a good showing in the conference tournament can get them in, and a quality win over a Georgia team that has a #7 RPI will go a long way. The Crimson Tide have only lost 2 games at home the past 3 years and Coleman Coliseum has become one of the toughest places in the country for opposing teams to visit. The defense is the strength at home as Alabama is allowing just 62 ppg on 38% shooting and 30% shooting from behind the arc. On the road, Georgia is giving up 76 ppg on 44% shooting and 40% three-point shooting. The Bulldogs are just 3-6 away from home and have dropped 4 of their last 5 road games. Alabama is just 5-14 ATS this season but this is the only situation they have had success at. They are 5-3 ATS at home against winning teams (they are 0-6 against winning teams on the road and 0-5 ATS against losing teams overall making up the other 11 losses). With two road games at Tennessee and Mississippi St. on deck, this is a must win game for Alabama and with the strength of their home court, they should get that win.
