THURSDAY NIGHT:

Houston @ SOUTHERN MISS

This Line is too high. No doubt Golden Eagles are off to a great start, but Cougars showed some metal against Hurricanes in limiting them to just 271 yards in Total Offense in getting the Cover. Despite having a bye week after their Miami game, they still got hammered versus Memphis last week.

I think Houston shows up Thursday night after their last two blowout losses in which they gave up nearly 80 points combined. Look for them to bounce back. If the Cougars show half the defensive prowess they did against the Canes, they'll cover the generous 17-point spot.

It may sound like a stretch, but don't be surprised if Houston gives SO MISS all they can handle and grabs the Straight Up win for the upset. The Eagles have been on the right side of the Turnovers as they are +10; that's an awefully high number for just 3 games and the ball just might bounce the other way here. Eagles were dominated by Nebraska, but the t.o.'s gave them the upset.

In their next two games USM dominated defensively, but, again, it was the turnovers that have made them look better than they really are. Because of that, we're getting value in the line. Look for the Houston Cougars to come very close to pulling the upset as I expect the ball to bounce their way...

Unlv @ BYU

Rebels have been a decent Road Dog under John Robinson while Cougars are 1-12 ATS after their last 13 Straight Up Wins. Unlv got on track convincingly last week in a 48-13 rout of Nevada and will look to pull even with BYU in Conference Play with a win here. I look for the Cougars to let down here and the Rebels to keep it close if not win outright...
