After a red-hot start, Colorado St. has really cooled off as of late. They started the season 10-2 but have gone just 4-6 since and have lost their last three games, all in the MWC. Air Force has had their troubles of late as well, losing 6 of their last 7, however 5 of those games were on the road and they now head back home for the first time since January 25th. They are a stellar 7-2 at home while the Rams are just 1-5 on the road. The Falcons offense thrives on their home floor, shooting 54% from the field and 44% from behind the arc. Colorado St. is shooting a respectable 49% on the road but just 27% from three-point range. The defense of these two teams is completely night and day. Air Force is allowing just 54 ppg on 42% shooting at home while the Rams are allowing 84 ppg on 50% shooting on the road. In their first meeting in Fort Collins back on January 18th, the Falcons shot only 37.5% from the floor while allowing 51.4% but still only lost the game by 2 points. The defense only allowed 37 shot attempts by the Rams while putting up 58 attempts themselves. This has been a common theme for the Falcons, as they are allowing an average of just 43 shot attempts per game, while the Rams allow 61 per game. The slow down style helps them to get the good looks resulting in a solid shooting percentage, especially on their home floor. The MWC certainly has not been kind to the Falcons, as they had lost 21 straight conference games dating back to January 2000 until their last home win over UNLV. Now that the monkey is off their back, they should be able to take care of the road weary Rams.
