Philly did not fail to win 3 straight NFC Championships because they were lacking a prema donna WR who ALREADY is failing to show up on time for meetings.

Andy Reid had better put his foot down NOW.

Phillies failure to advance to the SB is not because they were lacking weapons. If they were lacking weapons, they never would have gone to 3 straight Championships to begin with!!!

Philly was not in need of ANYTHING! They were fine just the way they were as EVIDENCED by 3 straight appearances in the NFC Championship.

There. I said it three times.

Don't you see? Donovan McNabb failed in those games. He threw costly interceptions at critical times. No excuses. Get the job done. They didn't. And no cry-baby, high-profile WR is going to change that.

Mark my words, if Andy Reid does not show some spine, disension will arise in the Philly camp. And that's too bad, because they had a DAMN good thing going before Owens arrrived.

Eagles got by hapless Gints, but Philly loses Monday Night to the Vikings.

I knew you would find something negative to bitch about in that game! If you have ever been to Philly on game day the traffic is nuts from 8 o'clock on even on a 4 o'clock game. The things the Birds were missing the last 3 years was someone to get them over the hump that's what Owens gives them! YOU WILL EAT THOSE WORDS MY FRIEND!!!!!!!

I'm sure it would be fun to be there on game morning....especially when the weather turns cool. Don't mean to sound negative with the Eagles. It's more about capping and offering an opinion.

I think the Eagles are still a contender, but I don't believe they were lacking anything.

Where was Terrel when this team got off to a slow start last year and the boos started? I'll bet he would've been real professional in handling the boos. Right.

Where was he when they picked themselves up by their bootstraps and overcame? His history is to be part of the problem, not part of the solution.

And where was he when they ran off nine straight wins and made a 3rd straight trip? They did it without him. They did that without Terrel Owens. They were not lacking anything. If they were, they never would have got there to begin with.

The only thing they are lacking is a QB who gets it done when it counts the most. A QB who does not throw int's at crucial points of the game. Hard to argue fact. McNabb had a chance to go to the SB the last 2 seasons and blew it with costly int's.

I am not saying McNabb CAN'T get there, I'm saying he HASN'T after 3 tries, two of which were at home. I do not believe the pressense of Owens would have made a difference.

Now they have to do it without Taylor and Staley, and could very well do it again, but it's not my belief that they will.

I dunno if Philly loses Monday or not, but at this point I'm looking at the Vikings +3.5.

Dave, I think you are looking at box scores too much. If you watched the NFC Championship game you would have noticed that the 3 INTs that McNabb threw were caused by the receivers not getting off the line and not running the correct routes. If I remember correctly one was thrown to Thrash and bounced off of him and was intercepted. Not McNabb's fault. We also lost Westbrook at the end of the season which was a big blow. How can you not see the receivers where one of the big problems last year along with the run defense? So what did the Eagles do, they go out and get one of the top receivers in the league and Kearse. I'm so sick of hearing what a cancer Owens is. All during training camp and pre-season the other receivers said how helpful he was. Andy Reid doesn't fuck around and Owens knows this. He will be fine. The receivers had 5 receiving TDs all of last season......yesterday we had 3 all by Owens!

I'm not discounting Owens talent, but he's already beginning to challenge Reid and I hope Andy will stomp that out before it 'becomes' cancer.

I know that a game can be disected many ways in seaching out why a team doesn't get the job done. But sooner or later it doesn't matter why. It just matters that they aren't gettting it done.

Hey, Philly might do it this year; and if they do, then all the espn critics and all the other sports analalysts' will be right. But they (the eagles) will be bucking a real trend if they go all the way. More than one too.

In my SB Winning Criteria, the Eagles don't meet even one of them, if you can believe that. Nonetheleast of which is the fact that only 1 coach in NFL History has taken his team to the SB "after" his first five seasons with them, and that would be John Madden in '76 (8th season).

And since the arrival of Free agency and also the "Win Now" mentality (no more time for rebuilding) on the heels of the Jags and Pats making their conference championships in '96, since then, no coach has made it past his 3rd year.

It could happen, but I'm just saying that to me it should've already if it were going to.

Run D allowed 7.4 yards Sunday. Bennet will have field day.

Eagles gooing to SB

Hey Guys,

One of the biggest problems has been Donovon. But what you fail to realize is the first year against the Rams he was only in the league for a year. Against the Bucs, he was injured and probably should never even have played and last year the same deal. With that said, the problem has been he has not had a go to guy as a wideout. The addition of TO will free up the other wideouts and the tight ends. If westbrook stays healthy it will be very difficult to defend everybody

Skins will be better than last year. Usually a good coach like Gibbs will add 2 more wins to their total, but will Brunnell REALLY bring them to the top? I don't think so.

Dave, what did I tell you stay out of those box scores. The 72 yard run that the defense gave up to Tiki was with less than 4 minutes left in the game and all back ups in. Of course that run average is going to look huge! And Bennet isn't even playing bro, he's hurt!
