Some "EZ" Analysis
Warriors @ Knicks 2-12-03
-From time to time a situational play comes
along where I like a play but don't have
enough "inside" information to make an informed
play. Rather than guess what's going on in
the Knicks' clubhouse.....it's better to wait
until pre-game (if necessary) and learn the
true situation before making a play.
-Tonight the over in the GS/NY game caught
my attention. With the way Chaney's team
has played defense......you'd have to like
the over with this young, running and gunning
Warrior team coming into Madison Sq.
-The "fly-in-the-ointment" comes with Allen
Houston's (Knicks' leading scorer at 21.2
ppg) status for tonight's tilt.
-Houston injured his wrist making a defensive
play against the LAL's Fox last Thursday night.
-Even though he has had 5 days to heal up....they
still have him listed as "day-to-day"!
-Whether Houston plays or not is pivotal to which
position one should take. If he's not available
tonight I like the under.....if he can play then
you'd think he has been cleared for play and can
be effective.
-Therefore.....I like the over if Houston plays
but I like the under if Houston is out!!
-Wait until the picture is clear before making
this a play.....even if it requires waiting right
up until the line ups for each team are announced!
-The teams' combined numbers tend to favor an over
the total line of 201 for this tilt:
Seasonal ppg scored........193'
Home/Away ppg scored.......191'
Last 5 games ppg scored....203'
Seasonal ppg allowed.......191
Home/Away ppg allowed......192
Last 5 games ppg allowed...199
-I believe if Houston is out......the under is
a very solid play. Without Houston....GS just
has to keep Spree's three's under control and
play within themselves.
-I believe if Houston plays......we'll see a
faster up and down the court high scoring game.
Especially, the way Spree has been connecting
with the long balls to open up Houston for
scores inside the arc. The Knicks need both
Houston and Spree to score consistently and
be effective on the offensive end of the court.
-Last 7 games....the Knicks from 3 pt. land:
*60% LAL
*58% LAC
*28% Mil
*52% Mem
*32% Mia
*44% Atl
*37% Pho
-But without Houston (if he's out) the Warriors
will concentrate on guarding Spree...decreasing
NY's long ball threat and obviously the score!
-Neither of these teams are playing defense very
well at this stage of the season:
*GS allowing 105 in their last 5
*NY allowing 99' in their last 5
-So.....when Houston's status becomes clearer
than just "day-to-day".....I play:
GS/NY over 201 with Houston
OR
GS/NY under 201 without Houston
*** Coming next week we will have our early bird MLB packages. Make sure you come and check us out. We ended up the MLB season +300 units last year. All plays were documented at the madjack sports forum.
