South Carolina vs Vanderbilt.....12:30 ET
Gamecocks are coming off back-to-back 5-7 seasons, mainly because of their inconsistent play on offense, led by senior quarterback Dondrial Pinkins. Vandy returns its entire defensive unit from last year, under 3rd-year coach Bobby Johnson.
On offense, Commodore junior QB Jay Cutler and 9 other returning starters, will again move the ball vs a suspect Carolina defense that allowed 26.2 PPG last season. This is a huge home-opener for the confident 'Dores, vs an overrated South Carolina team, that could well be looking to next weeks showdown vs Georgia.
I like the 4-point underdog, Vanderbilt, to get the easy cover here, and win the game outright.
