Western Carolina +13.5 (1 Unit)
The Catamounts travel to Johnson City to take on a short-handed East Tennessee St. team that is without their leading scorer. Guard Tirus Wade, who is averaging 16.3 ppg, sat out their last game on Saturday, a loss to Georgia Southern. All five starters scored in double figures but their bench scored 0 points, had only 2 rebounds and logged only 36 minutes total. Western Carolina is coming off a home win over North Carolina Greensboro and have now won 3 of their last 6 after a stretch of losing 8 of 9. Kevin Martin is the leader of this team, averaging 22.2 ppg and he put in 37 points in their win over the Spartans on Saturday. After Martin, the scoring is thin but very well dispersed. They have 11 players who average more than 14 minutes per game and Martin is the only player who plays over 30 mpg. This shows the lack of more than one go to guy but they don't tire and do stay fresh, which will be a huge asset against the Buccaneers who should wear down in this game. East Tennessee St. has cashed just once in 7 tries when laying the wood and is only 1-4 ATS on their home floor. We see a much closer game than the spread indicates and the Catamounts should easily stay within this very generous number.
