Tonight we like St Louis (Carpenter -$115) against Florida (Beckett). The Fish are floundering and Beckett is a big reason. He has hit the DL twice this season and he is only 4-7 when he does pitch. He is in a recent 0-3 stretch with a 9.00 Era and Florida is not scoring runs like they did last season. St Louis has won five straight and 8 of their last 10 games. Carpenter has been a god send at 12-4 with a 3.73 Era and the Cards are the best team on the road in the majors (36-17). Carpenter is also 2-0 with a 2.78 Era over his last three starts so he is looked in and ready to keep Beckett reeling. With the addition of Larry Walker, the Card offense is nearly impenetrable. A pitcher has to be on top of his game to get a win off of them, and Beckett clearly is not.
