Houston Astros (Oswalt) at San Diego Padres (Peavy) 10:05 PM ET
Houston Astros (Oswalt) –113 (2 Units)
Houston needs a boost from their starting pitching and it looks as though Roy Oswalt is their man as his nagging injury looks to have healed. Oswalt will look to extend his winning streak to four games. The right-hander has pitched eight innings in each of his last three wins. Lifetime against the Padres, Oswalt is 3-0 with a 1.09 ERA and he has allowed three earned runs over 24.2 innings. Jake Peavy is off the DL and will be making just his 2nd start since mid May so stamina will be an issue as he went 5.1 innings in his last outing and that was against the Royals so the numbers are a little skewed since Kansas City is hitting just .199 since the trade of Carlos Beltran who is ready for a breakout game for Houston. The loss of Phil Nevin is a huge loss for the Padres offense that is only hitting .246 at home for the season.
