Cleveland Indians (Westbrook) at Chicago White Sox (Rauch) 2:05 PM ET
Cleveland Indians (Westbrook) -104 (2 Units)
The Indians continue to score runs as they have averaged 5.6 rpg over their last 25 games which has resulted in a 16-9 record. They should continue the trend tonight against Jon Rauch who was hit hard in his only start this season back on May 29th. Rauch made headlines in Chicago when he skipped town after getting rocked for five runs in 3 2/3 innings in a 5-1 loss to the Anaheim Angels. Supposedly things are all squared up between him and his teammates but who knows what the effect will be. Chicago general manager Kenny Williams was so upset at Rauch's early departure that he said Rauch might never pitch another game for the Sox. Rauch is 2-2 with a 7.24 ERA in 9 career appearances and he has not fared well at home. He is 1-2 with a 12.18 ERA, a 2.24 WHIP and a .387 BAA. The fifth spot in the rotation has not been kind to the White Sox, as five pitchers have combined to go 0-8. Jake Westbrook gets to face a ballclub that seems ripe for him to beat. The White Sox are a power club. T hey hit homers and a lot of them, as they are 2nd in baseball with 97 dingers. But Westbrook's a sinkerball pitcher, and when he's right, he gets hitters to ground out. He has a very respectable 3.98 ERA on the road this season even though he is only 1-3. The Indians have scored only 3 total runs in his last 2 road losses but that should definitely change here.
