Chicago Cubs (Maddux) at Houston Astros (Redding) 7:05 PM ET

Chicago Cubs (Maddux) –102 (2 Units)

Greg Maddux pitched seven strong innings in the Cubs' 3-2 loss to the Angels on Friday night. Maddux remains solid as he has allowed 2 runs or less in 6 of his last 10 starts and 3 or less in 8 of those, posting a 3.08 ERA during that span. The Cubs are 6-4 in those starts including 3-2 on the road. He was 1-0 against the Astros in 2003 with an ERA of 0.00, and in his career, he's 22-9 against Houston with a 2.48 ERA. Tim Redding surrendered three earned runs in 5.1 innings when Milwaukee beat him last Friday and it was his second straight shaky outing. He has allowed 14 runs in his last 4 starts (5.32 ERA) after going on a decent run. He has been awful as home also, going 1-2 in his 5 starts with a 6.08 ERA and 1.69 WHIP. The opposition is hitting .333 against him at Minute Maid Park in 23.2 innings of work. The Astros are 2-3 in his 5 home starts. The Cubs are 7-3 their last 10 games while Houston is just 4-6. The offense has been hurting Houston as they are hitting .242 their last 10 games (.231 against righties) compared to the Cubs who are hitting .293 their last 10 (.296 against righties).
