  • Congrats to Detroit Rock City!

It's official, and while we did have the winning side play on Detroit, I would like to take this time to focus on the Detroit Pistons and congratulate them on a season well spent, well earned and VERY well deserved.

The addition of Rasheed Wallace and the emergence of Billups is what pushed this team over the top, finally. Larry Brown made it to the finals with the 76ers but had all sorts of bad boys in his lineup, guys that wouldn't take direction, the Pistons had no such thing and as such, coach Brown earned a Championship that he's been eyeing for a long time, "congrats Larry".

There is no question that having this very important Game 5 at home played a BIG part in the Pistons pushing past the Lakers once and for all. Knowing this, Detroit came out firing and never letup. The WALLACE WALL was brick solid when it had to be, that was BIG. Ben "get out of my face" Wallace went 8-13 and finished with 18pts and 3 steals as icing on the cake, Rasheed "look at me now" Wallace was worth watching as he went 5-8 and almost went back to the past with 5 personal fouls on the night 8) , Billups was brilliant with a perfect 8-8 at the freethrow line AND picked up 6 assists as well, Richard Hamilton led the way with 21 pts on the night, ALL Detroit players contributed and played with GREAT confidence ..... and they were rewarded.

CONGRATS to the Detroit Pistons and all their fans, I made a nice profit with the side on them last night and they made themselves a part of history with a Championship Season and a Trophy to enjoy for at least another year.
