Montreal Expos (Armas) at Kansas City Royals (Greinke) 8:10 PM ET

Kansas City Royals (Greinke) –132 (2 Units)

Zack Greinke has looked very good but still hasn't notched a victory. He has a 2.37 ERA in his 3 starts on the season. Greinke held the Tigers to two runs on six hits, going seven innings last Wednesday. But the Royals didn't score for him and lost, 2-0. They've scored just six runs in his three starts. The good news out of that is they are scoring runs around his starts. They have scored 14 and 12 runs respectively around his last 2 starts while scoring only 2 runs in between those games. Against the offensively challenges Expos, even a small improvement in his run support should be sufficient. Tony Armas will be making just his second start of the season since coming off the DL and he is most likely going to be limited in his pitch count again. Montreal has now dropped 12 of their last 16 games as their offense continues to struggle. They are hitting .232 on the season including only .239 against righties. They have hit higher than .250 as a team only 4 times in their last 10 games. In the seven previous years of Interleague play, the Royals have not fared well. Their cumulative record is 51-70 even though their batting average of .278 is second best among AL clubs. The problem has been pitching; the ERA of 5.20 is the worst by an AL club. With Greinke on the mound, the pitching gets a big upgrade. "This kid can pitch and, right now, I'd have to say he is our ace," manager Tony Pena said.
