The Cubs and Pirates hook up for a doubleheader in Pittsburgh. The pitching matchup in Game One features Matt Clement of the Cubs versus Kip Wells of the Pirates. He has allowed 18 runs on 41 hits with 59 K's, 23 walks and 4 homers in 60.1 innings. He ranks among the NL leaders in strikeouts (59), ERA (2.69) and opponent’s batting average against (.190). In his last start he allowed three runs on three hits with 6 K's, 3 walks and two homers in 7.0 innings in a 4-3 home win over St. Louis. He is 5-1 at home this season, but only 1-2 on the road.
