Vincente Padilla has really pitched much better than his record shows at (1-4). The Phillies on average have scored under 3 runs per in Padilla’s starts this season. However, their bats have started to heat up over the last few weeks and should remain hot against Kirk Rueter on Thursday.
Rueter is an average pitcher at best that requires a lot of defensive and offensive support to wins games as he does not strikeout many batters and generally will allow his fair share of runs. The Giant’s offense is rather cold right now and Bonds is struggling at the plate with little protection helping him. Give the Phillies the advantage here on the mound and with the sticks.
